Adriana Barazza may have been nominated for Babel where she walked in the middle of the dessert, crying for hours but if you haven’t seen her performance in Raimi’s Drag Me To Hell last year, you got some renting to do, my friends. It feels like there’s just always somebody who gets cast in THOR, doesn’t it. How many more big names and award worthy actors does the project need anyway? HollywoodReporter says Barazza has joined the cast of the upcoming Marvel live action movie which is expected to start production this month. As we know, THOR starts production this month. The live action movie directed by Kenneth Branagh has gone through its screen tests and costume tests and Marvel President Kevin Feige was euphoric about it, via Marvel.com, he believed THOR movie will redefine the comic book genre. It’s thanksgiving, I know, I probably should take recess or get some decent sleep for once but I figured there’s there’s no harm in going through this part real quickly before we head down to the homes of our families and relatives and eat some jivin’ turkey! As I’ve said before, I don’t know much about THOR, I didn’t grew up a fan of the God of Thunder, I don’t hate him, it’s just that I’d probably know a bit more about Superman, Spider-Man and Batman, that’s all. Recently the Warriors Three were cast and now Heat Vision says Stringer Bell (HBO’s The Wire) a.k.a Idris Elba is going to star as Heimdall in the Marvel live action movie THOR directed by Kenneth Branagh.
based loosely on the god Heimdall of Norse myth, Heimdall is “the brother of the warrior Sif. He is the all-seeing and all-hearing guardian sentry of Asgard, he stands on the rainbow bridge, Bifrost and stands watch for any attacks to Asgard. The long wait is finally over! Marvel has announced, via Production weekly, that the principal photography for THOR live action movie will start in mid-January 2010 in Los Angeles and the scheduled four-month shoot will move to Santa Fe, NM from March through April. Who knows how long the post-production will last after that and if director Kenneth Branagh will have some awesome footage to show the fans at Comic-Con 2010 but I’m hoping that would be the case. The ball is rolling, next year we’ll have IRON MAN 2, the next year after that are SPIDER-MAN 4 and THOR and THE FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA and the year after that is the ultimate gathering of Marvel superheroes, THE AVENGERS.
