I think I’ve mentioned before that Kevin Smith is funnier in person than his movies. His HALL H Panel at Comic-Con is always a good event to laugh out loud. Don’ get me wrong, I’m a big fan of Clerks and all the Jay and Silent Bob adventures including Mallrats but let’s face it,. Jersey Girl, Zack And Miri Make A Porno, even the recent Cop Out, which he didn’t write, was huge crapola. But his website, podcast and twitter are all still popular, especially after that recent plane incident, Smith knows how to rally up his fans… although between you and me,… I’m with Southwest Airline on this matter. Via joblo, Smith talked to Wired which by the way was not afraid to ask Smith the reality check questions. Check out the excerpt below… Read the rest of this entry »
Seann William Scott Talks The New AMERICAN PIE Movie. Kevin Smith Wants Him To HIT SOMEBODY
The character Stiffler is pretty much iconic in the world of R-rated comedy. Thanks to Seann William Scott who oddly made the sex-crazed lifestyle of a natural born a-hole seem so much fun. So when info hit the web this past week that Universal wanted to bring AMERICAN PIE movie back to the big screen, with Harold & Kumar writers, on top of that it might even be a whole new take instead of a simple fourth installment, with the possibility of the original stars returning, comingsoon just had to ask Seann William Scott if we ever get to see the Stiffmeister conquering women again on the big screen… Read the rest of this entry »
COP OUT Theater Display
I was going to attend the test screening for COP OUT (check out the trailer) last week on MLK day but then I thought ‘do I really want to celebrate the memory of the great Dr. King by watching an unfunny comedy?’. But I was at a local theater today and I spotted these theater displays for COP OUT which I think would be the basis of the upcoming character posters. Bruce Willis‘ tagline is Hot Head, Ana de la Reguera’s is Hot Chica (rightfully so), Tracy Morgan’s is Wise Guy, and Sean William Scott unfortunately got the worst one ‘Doody Calls’. COP OUT Poster
O boy, the poster for COP OUT has arrived, via IGN, and it’s just as unfunny as the trailer itself. “Rock out with your glock out”.. glock, seriously?! It’s like when you tell a joke to a bar full of crowds but you end up laughing at your own jokes while everybody else is quiet with the sound of cricket in the background. I thought The Whole Ten Yards gave Bruce Willis a lesson of not returning to crapola gigs again. It’s going to be literally painful watching this movie. The poster doesn’t even recognize Kevin Smith as the director, nothing that says ‘from the director of Clerks‘. How sad. View the whole image after the jump… or don’t… Read the rest of this entry »
New COP OUT Image
Real quick now, above is the new image from COP OUT, feel free to check out the trailer, or don’t! I wouldn’t if I were you, it was one of the lamest trailers of 2009 in my opinion. Directed by Kevin Smith who in the article said that the scene pictured above is “the classic ‘You guys are f— ups!’ scene” in which Tracy Morgan’s and Bruce Willis‘ characters get lectured by their superior after an undercover stolen cell-phone bust goes bad… Read the rest of this entry »
Kevin Smith Explains How A COUPLE OF DICKS Becomes COP OUT
Months before Zack And Miri Make A Porno, if you’d remember, there was a battle that director Kevin Smith is fighting in order to keep the Porno title from being slashed and to keep the rating R instead of NC-17 which was what MPAA thought the movie deserved. I was defending Smith but then the movie was released and turns out, I’d rather watch a real porno than Zack and Miri, that’s how bad it was. But I’m still for freedom of expression and all those good natural born rights so when Kevin Smith was fighting another battle to keep the title A COUPLE OF DICKS intact, I wanted him to win this time but… Read the rest of this entry »
COP OUT Trailer
Is 2010 going to be full comedy movies that are not funny? For the past week, we’ve been watching trailers for HOT TUB TIME MACHINE, MARMADUKE, FURRY VENGEANCE and I’m thinking, wow, we are royally screwed next year! And now the trailer for COP OUT (formerly known as A Couple Of Dicks) has been released by WB, via Apple, the trailer for some reason doesn’t wanna mention Kevin Smith as the director. I understand Kevin Smith didn’t write this crapola, but even if he did, it still wouldn’t help. I think the burden will fall solely on Tracy Morgan to try and make us laugh because obviously Bruce Willis and even Sean William Scott couldn’t pull their weight. By the way, keep in mind that Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg will also have their own silly cop buddy movie opening next year in separate season, called The Other Guys. We’ll see which of those two movies will win. Watch the trailer for COP OUT after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »

A COUPLE OF DICKS Gets A New Secret Title
The recent WB’s 2010 preview gave us first look at Kevin Smith’s new movie A COUPLE OF DICKS, starring Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis as about two veteran LAPD detectives who attempt to track down a stolen, mint-condition, 1952 baseball card while getting mixed up in some gangster trouble and trying to rescue a Mexican beauty who holds the key to millions in laundered drug money. After long disagreements over DICKS, the movie is currently called UNTITLED COP MOVIE but Smith has spoken, via slashfilm, that it has received a new title that makes him smile… Read the rest of this entry »
WB’s 2010 Preview Offers First Look Photos
Yesterday, Warner Bros. gave the world a preview of its 2010 line up. Nothing much, mostly list of titles and their release dates but it did offer some new first look photos of upcoming movies. But what’s worth noticing is that Kevin Smith’s new comedy which kept going back and forth from A COUPLE OF DICKS to A COUPLE OF COPS is now UNTITLED COP COMEDY, seems like Smith and the studio still don’t see eye to eye about the title yet. Too bad the preview didn’t give us a first look at INCEPTION but it has some more, including Ben Affleck’s crime drama THE TOWN. I’ve included some of them here, check ‘em out after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »
