The trailer for the upcoming drama CRAZY HEART (check out the poster) starring Jeff Bridges is now online, via Apple, which you can watch using the media player below. It’s funny how the trailer emphasizes the fact that Bridges is a 4 time Oscar nominee, it’s like saying ‘damnit, he deserves to win one people!’
The problem with this movie is that many has described it as The Wrestler but with country music. Another story of a ‘broken down piece of meat’ trying to recapture his glory days
I remember when Walk The Line came out, some jokingly said it was ‘Ray but with white people’.
But I’m sure Bridges will get a nomination for this performance and I wouldn’t be suprised if Maggie Gyllenhaal will get recognized as well as supporting actress, she’ll finally get to catch up to her brother, Jake. Watch the trailer after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »

CRAZY HEART Poster
The great Jeff Bridges have been nominated four times. That is an example of life unfair, right there. But no worries, Oscar voters love stories about musicians and since Bridges most likely won’t get nominated for movies like IRON MAN or TRON LEGACY or even the recent THE MEN WHO STARE AT GOATS, we can at least believe in the Oscar buzz surrounding his latest performance as musician Bad Blake in the upcoming drama CRAZY HEART from Fox Searchlight, written and directed by Scott Cooper and based on the novel by Thomas Cobb. The poster has arrived via LATimesBlog. Maybe Bridges could someday play musician/actor Kris Kristofferson cause he sure as hell looks like him too… Read the rest of this entry »
BANG Maggie Gyllenhaal
Nobody was pleased with Maggie Gyllenhaal playing Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight, it’s considered on of the poorest recasting decision ever, fortunately the movie was that damn good, you barely noticed her. But hey, say what you want about her but at least she answered the call when Katie Holmes chose to do Mad Money instead. So Maggie Gyllenhaal deserves some credit.
Jake’s sister didn’t have many projects last year but according to Variety, she’s signed on to star in the sequel to 2005 movie Nanny McPhee for Working Title.
The second movie is titled NANNY McPHEE AND THE BIG BANG. The story this tie centers on a group of kids who are evacuated from the city to a farm during wartime. Brit actress Emma Thompson will return as the magic-wielding nanny. Thompson is also writing the script and first time director Susanna White will helm the project.
Based on Christianna Brand’s Nurse Matilda books. The first movie earned $47 Million in domestic box office.
