Michael Jai White and Scott Sanders
Michael Jai White and director Scott Sanders

Earlier today I had the opportunity of interviewing director Scott Sanders who brought us one of the funniest movies of 2009 that not many people got to see, BLACK DYNAMITE starring Michael Jai White (The Dark Knight). The DVD & Blu-Ray will hit the stores this Tuesday, Jive your way to get it! Cause trust me, that movie will crack you the F up, it is that insanely hilarious!
I’ll post the entire interview tomorrow but I want to at least post a couple of things that he mentioned regarding the crazy idea he wants to do with Michael, a JAMAICAN ZOMBIE project. This might just be the funniest weed movie that will ever hit the big screen. It’s not in development yet, it’s just an idea for now, but a helluva good one I might add, being a hardcore zombie flick fan myself. And then he revealed that he actually had a chat with Marvel regarding the live action movie BLACK PANTHER but he said it might not be on the horizon quite just yet, so don’t get your hopes up.

Edgar Wright Ant Man

How much do you believe in Stan Lee? He is after all one of the godfather of comics and superheroes, so his word is more than often reliable right? He won’t be pulling our leg for no reason. The project ANT-MAN has had the name Edgar Wright (Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz) attached as the filmmaker for a while now and today, Stan Lee tweeted,.. ya even at his age he finds the time to keep up with today’s youthful social networking trend, he said that ANT-MAN and more Marvel movies are coming to our theaters… Read the rest of this entry »

Marvel/Disney Merger Is Now Official!

Posted by Rama On January - 2 - 2010

Disney Marvel

Real quick now, quite possibly the biggest movie info that shook 2009 was when Disney planned to buy Marvel for about $4 billion, making Mouse HouseĀ  the owner of over 5000 Marvel’s characters. I hope none of those superheroes and villains would get literally kicked in the nuts and face by Mickey Mouse just like when he beat up one of the Jonas Brothers in South Park. Via comingsoon, it was announced yesterday that Marvel stockholders have approved the adoption of the Agreement and Plan of Merger entered into by Marvel and The Walt Disney Company, which provides for a merger in which Marvel will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Disney.. Rene Russo Frigga

My friend Pono said the other day, ‘damn everytime I log on to your website, there’s always somebody that just got cast in THOR!’ Ha! That comment is not far from truth, THOR universe has so many supporting characters and the Marvel live action movie seems to hire notable names to play those roles. Another one joining in is Rene Russo, according to Variety, she is set to play Frigga, the Queen of Asgard, wife to Odin, step mother to Thor and foster mother to Loki… Read the rest of this entry »

Dubai’s Marvel Superheroes Theme Park Concept Art

Posted by Rama On December - 2 - 2009

marvel8

Where is the biggest, coolest, mind-blowing theme park in the whole world? Orlando? Japan? Nope. How bout Dubai?! It’s been called the Las Vegas of the Persian Gulf and a couple of years ago Al Ahli Group made a deal with Marvel Entertainment to build a theme park that would have attractions and shows featuring Marvel’s greatest superheroes for tourists to enjoy. This is going to be a place unlike anything you’ve ever seen before, via Cinematical.
It’s expected to open in 2012 but Disneyandmore has some concept art by Chimera Design company that lets you have an idea of what you can anticipate. On other hand, there’s been word that Dubai is facing financial crisis, but right now, I’m truly impressed by what they’re going to offer,… Stark Laboratories, 4D Experience, Flying With Spidey. Too bad it’s going to be all the way in Dubai.
I might have to catch a flight to Atlanta because there’s a Delta flight there that connects straight to Dubai but by the time I get to Dubai, I’d be hella broke to even catch a cab around town.
Check out more fascinating images after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »

Jeremy Renner As Hawkeye? Donald Blake Is NOT In THOR?

Posted by Rama On November - 26 - 2009

Hawkeye Jeremy Renner

It’s thanksgiving, I know, I probably should take recess or get some decent sleep for once but I figured there’s there’s no harm in going through this part real quickly before we head down to the homes of our families and relatives and eat some jivin’ turkey! As I’ve said before, I don’t know much about THOR, I didn’t grew up a fan of the God of Thunder, I don’t hate him, it’s just that I’d probably know a bit more about Superman, Spider-Man and Batman, that’s all. But as you know, the marvel live action movie THOR, directed by Kenneth Branagh has been gaining up speed in its casting, mainly because they have to get right actors for the right parts before production starts in January 2010… Read the rest of this entry »
