Lie for Italian! NINE is sexy, elaborate, and ravishing. Just as Marty Scorsese is a master of gangster flicks, Rob Marshall lives and breathes musical, NINE is just another evidence that this is what he does best. Daniel Day-Lewis is… Read the rest of this entry »
NINE REVIEW
2009 Was The Year Of Liar-Liar
Thou shalt Lie! A number of movies this past year carried a certain similar theme. One way or another, they were all about lying. Whether it’s to get what they want, to bury the past, or to fix relationships, lies tend to give birth to more lies and then some more and nothing good comes out of telling lies, it doesn’t matter if you try to wrap ‘em up with good intentions. Here I’ll give you a few examples, but heads up, the following contains SERIOUS SPOILERS! But if you don’t care, then check ‘em all out after this jump… Read the rest of this entry »
NINE Trailer 3
The previous trailers for Rob Marshall’s new musical movie NINE were all.. musical, which was cool because I’ll never get tired of that Be Italian song. But TWC has released a third one over at Apple, this one tries to give you the characters and what’s going on in the plot. Although I got distracted when Penelope Cruz said ‘with my legs open’.
I finally got the trailer embedded below, check it out after this jump… Read the rest of this entry »
NINE New Poster
The new poster for the upcoming musical movie NINE by director Rob Marshall, is online, via Cinematical. Check out the rest over at IMP. That song ‘Be Italian’ from the trailer is stuck in my head now. The image above of Daniel Day Lewis surrounded by 4 beautiful women is pretty much all you need to see about this poster but if you’d like to check out the paparazzi, then fine, view the whole image after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »

NINE New Featurette: Rehearsal Montage
I wasn’t a big fan of Rob Marshall’s Chicago, although I never doubted Catherine Zeta-Jones deserving that Oscar. But there’s something about Marshall’s new musical NINE that just screams out Magnificent and Breathtaking. Probably because that song is irresistibly epic. My gut says the choreography will be one for the books. Yahoo has the new featurette which shows the behind-the-scenes rehearsal montage including how Penelope Cruz preppe for that stunning leg spread move. Bravo! Watch the video after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »
NINE Moves To December
The weekend of November 25th is already filled with A-movies: FANTASTIC Mr. FOX, OLD DOGS, NINJA ASSASSIN,THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG and it was initially the release date for the Rob Marshall musical movie NINE (check out the trailer) as well but TWC was thinking.. ‘how the hell are we going to get people to watch it there’s too many other damn options around?!’
So according to Variety, TWC has moved their Oscar hopeful movie to December 18th, 2009 (going up against James Cameron’s AVATAR) and then NINE will expand nationwide on December 25th (going up against SHERLOCK HOLMES, ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS 2, THE IMAGINARIUM OF DOCTOR PARNASSUS)
Frankly, I don’t see how this new date will do them any good, the competition is still rough.
NINE is a vibrant and provocative musical that follows the life of world famous film director Guido Contini (Daniel Day-Lewis) as he reaches a creative and personal crisis of epic proportion, while balancing the numerous women in his life including his wife (Marion Cotillard), his mistress (Penelope Cruz), his film star muse (Nicole Kidman), his confidant and costume designer (Judi Dench), an American fashion journalist (Kate Hudson), the whore from his youth (Fergie) and his mother (Sophia Loren). The film is directed by Rob Marshall (CHICAGO). The original 1982 Broadway production of NINE, with music and lyrics by Maury Yeston, won five Tony Awards including Best Musical.
I guess we’ll have to wait a little longer to watch Penelope Cruz spread her legs like this
ET’s NINE Footage
I usually don’t like posting anything from Entertainment Tonight but the vibrant video above is probably the newest behind-the-scenes footage to hit the web of director Rob Marshall’s latest, the musical movie NINE starring caliber actors like Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Sophia Loren, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz and then there’s chunkie Fergie and Kate Hudson. This is going to be a serious Best Picture threat come Oscar season. We’ll see if it has the same wow factor as Chicago.
6 Sexy NINE Images
6 Sexy Images from the upcoming musical movie NINE, directed by Rob Marshall (Chicago) hit the web and there’s a nice shot of Penelope Cruz in lingerie, like we need another excuse. This movie’s got tons of hotties plus a few who probably used to be hotties way back in the day, I’m talking about Judi Dench and Sophie Loren.
Daniel Day Lewis plays a filmmaker with the many beautiful women in his life, keeping him busy and giving him a hard time.

NINE Trailer
If you liked the 2002 Oscar winning musical movie CHICAGO, then you probably can’t wait to see NINE, also directed by Rob Marshall with a star-studded cast led by the man who can play anything, Daniel Day-Lewis. The Weinstein Co. has released the trailer for the movie, via Apple, which you can watch using the media player below, it’s rich with choreographed musical sequences that would make Hugh Jackman jealous for not being invited to the party.
This year we’d have two movies that practically have the same title with two very different stories, this one.. and Shane Acker’s 9.
