John Hlavin To Write UNDERWORLD 4

We heard the info this past summer telling us that Sony’s Screen Gems is definitely going to develop UNDERWORLD 4 and it’s scheduled for release in January 2011 and it’s going to be in 3D. No word yet what format it’ll take (prequel, sequel) and whether or not the stars: Kate Beckinsale, Michael Sheen, Scott Speedman, Rhona Mitra, Bill Nighy will reprise their role in any capacity. I’m really glad about this new info, because when I heard the info a while ago that Kate Beckinsale will not be reprising her role for the third installment in UNDERWORLD Franchise, I thought, they might as well just probably have to have it gone straight to DVD because UNDERWORLD without Kate Beckinsale is like England without Kate Beckinsale.

According to SCI FI PI, the hottie from Doomsday, Rhona Mitra has been cast as Sonja in the next Underworld movie, which will be a prequel.
It’s going to be called UNDERWORLD: RISE OF THE LYCANS

Kate’s wife will not be the director anymore but he’s agreed to help produce the project while Patrick Tatoupoulos will be helming the whole she-bang.

Mitra’s character Sonja is…

“Viktor’s daughter, vampire lover of werewolf Lucian and cause of all the fuss that is the thousand year war between wolf and bat.”

Bill Nighy a.k.a squidface Davy Jones will reprise his role as Viktor which in the first movie was beheaded by Kate Beckinsale’s character.

For the record, I think this is a good decision on the movie’s part because after watching doomsday, there is no doubt in my mind that Rhona Mitra is the new hot and lethal femme fatale.

The movie is currently in production right now in the outskirts of Auckland…. it’s located in Peter Jackson’s homeland, New Zealand for those of us who are geographically challenged.
