In my opinion, this movie should’ve been called ‘Adam Sandler and his 3 friends whose movie careers somehow still exist only because Sandler’s movie career somehow still exists.’ Sony has released the teaser for GROWN UPS. A Happy Madison comedy about five best friends from high school who reunite 30 years later on a Fourth of July weekend starring Kevin James, Adam Sandler and Sandler’s 90’s SNL gang Chris Rock, Rob Schneider, David Spade, Tim Meadows. Feels good to know Sandler, doesn’t it?! You’ll always be on screen even when your time was actually already up and gone a long time ago. Co-starring Salma Hayek, Maya Rudolph, Maria Bello and the 4 year old kid sucking on Bello’s breasts.

Just as previously promised, the trailer for THE VAMPIRE’S ASSISTANT hit the web today via moviefone, you can watch it using the media player below. Keep in mind that this is based on the book series by Darren Shan, so it’s been called the Cirque Du Freak saga, meaning a new franchise has arrived. Let’s see how this can stand up against all the vampire fad that’s been going around with HBO’s Tru Blood and Twilight saga. Maybe Harry Potter franchise needs to create some vampire character just to keep up with the competition.
The trailer doesn’t look all that bad, you even get a quick shot of Salma Hayek as the bearded lady but it just seems too comical, and the humor is a miss.
Official Synopsis:
“The Vampire’s Assistant” tells the frightening tale of a boy who unknowingly breaks a 200-year-old truce between two warring factions of vampires. Pulled into a fantastic life of misunderstood sideshow freaks and grotesque creatures of the night, one teen will vanish from the safety of a boring existence and fulfill his destiny in a place drawn from nightmares.
14-year-old Darren (Chris Kelly) was like most kids in his suburban neighborhood. He hung out with his best friend, got decent grades and usually stayed out of trouble. But when he and his buddy stumble upon a traveling freak show, things begin to change inside Darren. That’s the exact moment when a vampire named Larten Crepsley (John C. Reilly) turns him into something, well, bloodthirsty.
Newly undead, he joins the Cirque Du Freak, a touring sideshow filled with monstrous creatures from a snakeboy and a wolfman to a bearded lady (Salma Hayek) and a gigantic barker (Ken Watanabe). As Darren flexes his newfound powers in this dark world, he becomes a treasured pawn between the vampires and their deadlier counterparts. And while trying to survive, one boy will struggle to keep their brewing war from devouring what’s left of his humanity.

When Dreamworks Animation announced the line-up for their future movies, the Shrek spin-off, PUSS IN BOOTS was on the list. At first all they had was scribe Tom Wheeler to write the screenplay, and now we know that not only will we have Antonio Banderas‘ voice again as the adorable cat with swordfighting skills, Salma Hayek will lend her voice to love interest Kitty. Shrek The Third helmer Chris Miller will direct, he wrote the earlier drafts of the screenplay.
Comingsoon.net had a chat with Banderas and he told them that PUSS IN BOOTS Movie will be an origin story.
“Yes, we’re going to go from the time he’s a very little cat, so you see actually why and how he becomes an adult killer, and the reasons why he ends up on that path. It’s interesting because it goes away from that kind of use of popular culture that ‘Shrek’ has. It goes in a different way,
and the movie sometimes gets almost emotional, I may say, and it’s kind of epic. I found when they pitched the movie to me, and now reading the script, a total real connection with the character. Obviously, he’s a cartoon, but (I have) a real personal connection with him in terms of what he’s expressing. It’s very emotional at some points, it’s very special. It’s going to surprise people I think; they’re not going to expect what we’re going to do.”

God forbid we have a Spanish grownass man who’s in touch with his emotional side and starts crying all over the interweb.
Maybe he’s become sensitive because besides the character PUSS, there’s not much going for Banderas lately.
It’s a good thing Dreamworks hasn’t forgotten about him.
Maybe the end of PUSS IN BOOTS would lead up to the moment in the bar when he showed up in Shrek 2.
Banderas will be part of Woody Allen’s untitled project and he’s set to star in Dali, playing the legendary painter. Until all these projects come to pass, his latest one, co-starring Morgan Freeman, THE CODE a.k.a Thick As Thieves, goes straight to DVD at the end of this month.
Now that her friend, Penelope Cruz, got an Oscar, I wonder when the next time Salma Hayek is going for another shot by taking on an Oscar worthy role because it’s been a while since Frida. But apparently, drama isn’t what’s on her mind right now, comedy is more like it. And I couldn’t agree more, after all, her biggest assets are..gkfjslsh gag brrhh.. o, I’m sorry, I got distracted by that voluptuous image above.
According to Joblo, word has it that Salma Hayek will star in the upcoming untitled comedy project alongside Adam Sandler and the gang, David Spade, Rob Schneider, and Kevin James, as previously announced.
Other Sandler’s entourage who might also join in are Steve Buscemi and Norm McDonald.
I’m just shooting in the dark here, but I don’t think I’m 100% wrong if all these guys are in this just to have an excuse to hit on Hayek.
In the movie, a bunch of old high school friends will reunite in their hometown Salma would star as Sandler’s wife in the film and mother to their daughters.
Adam Sandler has always been lucky when it comes to having a movie wife. Courtney Cox in The Longest Yard and Kate Beckinsale in Click and now this. The guy’s a lucky funny bastard.
