Summit Entertainment announced today that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days Of Summer) has replaced James McAvoy for the untitled Cancer comedy also starring Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick, Bryce Dallas Howard, Anjelica Huston and Philip Baker Hall, to be directed by Jonathan Levine (The Wackness). They said McAvoy left because of “unrelated circumstances beyond his control.” Is it THE HOBBIT? Nah.. I don’t think so. Probably personal stuff..like THE HOBBIT.. ugh, there I kept doing that again.. geez… Read the rest of this entry »

FREAKS AND GEEKS Creators Reunite For Kristen Wiig’s First Lead Starring Role
If you don’t know the name Paul Feig, it might ring a bell if you remember as far back as the late 90s because he and best buddy Judd Apatow with a bunch of other wacky friends came up with the short-lived series Freaks And Geeks that gave big breaks to some of today’s comedy movie stars like Seth Rogen, Jason Segel. Hollywood Reporter said that Feig and Apatow will reunite to develop an untitled comedy starring Kristen Wiig… Read the rest of this entry »
Christoph Waltz Talks Too Much About THE GREEN HORNET
There’s always those who slipped and revealed too much in an interview, much about the plot, the ending, whichever but I don’t think we should complain too much since the following SPOILER, via superherohype, came from a guy who can intimidate you by just asking for a glass of milk. Inglourious Basterds‘ Christoph Waltz is the villain in the upcoming THE GREEN HORNET movie starring Seth Rogen and this is what he said will happen between his character and Seth’s… Read the rest of this entry »
Universal To Distribute LARRY CROWNE. Summit To Distribute McAvoy’s Untitled Cancer Dramedy
Since these are 2 info about distribution, might as well just kill 2 birds with one stone. I literally tried that once when I was a kid, using a slingshot, it didn’t work, good thing the stone didn’t land on the neighbor’s window… Read the rest of this entry »

Seth Rogen’s movies in the past couple of years were Horton Hears A Who, Kung Fu Panda, Pineapple Express, Observe And Report and he has THE GREEN HORNET for us this year. Michelle Williams‘ movies in the past couple of years were Incendiary, Deception, Wendy & Lucy, Synecdoche New York, Mammoth and she’s got SHUTTER ISLAND for us this year. Anna Kendrick Joines McAvoy And Rogen In Cancer Dramedy
Anna Kendrick’s performance in Up In The Air was a revelation, in all honesty I think she did better than Clooney and Farmiga combined. There’s no doubt in my mind that she would get an Oscar nod, well, Oscars have a way of upsetting you so who knows. But with all the praises, I hope this means Kendrick won’t have to feel like she needs to go back to Twilight franchise again. Variety says, for her next gig, she will join James McAvoy and Seth Rogen in a Mandate Pictures now untitled dramedy formerly known as I’M WITH CANCER… Read the rest of this entry »
GREEN HORNET Set Photos: Seth Rogen And Jay Chou
The other day we looked at the costume which was worn by a stuntman and now Splashnews has some more photos from the set of THE GREEN HORNET, and it’s Seth Rogen himself wearing the costume, along with his sidekick Kato, played by Taiwanese actor Jay Chou.
They seem to be filming a shootout scene, just head on OVER THERE to view more pics.
A classic character of film, television, radio and comic books returns to the big screen in Columbia Pictures’ feature film The Green Hornet, starring Seth Rogen as the vigilante crime-fighter. Production is underway on the Michel Gondry-helmed film, which is produced by Neal H. Moritz (I Am Legend, The Fast and the Furious) and executive produced by Michael Grillo (The Accidental Tourist), Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (Superbad, Pineapple Express), Ori Marmur (Evan Almighty) and George W. Trendle, Jr. The screenplay is by Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg, based upon “The Green Hornet” radio series created by George W. Trendle and shoots entirely in Los Angeles. The film is set for release December 17, 2010.
In addition to Rogen, the film also stars Taiwanese actor-pop star Jay Chou as Kato, Cameron Diaz, Edward James Olmos (”Battlestar Galactica”), David Harbour (Revolutionary Road) and Tom Wilkinson (Valkyrie) and Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) will play the character Chudnofsky, the arch-nemesis.
Academy Award®-nominee John Schwartzman (Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian) is the director of photography. Production designer is Owen Paterson (The Matrix Revolutions), Kym Barrett (Speed Racer) serves as costume designer and Michael Tronick (Mr. & Mrs. Smith) is editing.
Christoph Waltz Is GREEN HORNET’s Villain
Damn! How the hell?! When Nic Cage exited THE GREEN HORNET project and when Sony placed the release date on the same weekend as Disney’s TRON LEGACY, I was certain that this movie was doomed no matter how badly Seth Rogen wants to see it on the big screen. But who would’ve thought that the guy to replace Cage,.. who would’ve thought that THE GREEN HORNET could get its hands on the greatest movie villain this year, Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds). He’s going to be the only great part about this movie, hell he’s going to steal the show from Rogen.
Deadline Hollywood reported that Waltz will play the character Chudnofsky, the arch-nemesis of THE GREEN HORNET, which by the way has started filming
Directed by Michel Gondry, THE GREEN HORNET opens December 17th, 2010
SMURFS Moves To Summer 2011
When Robert Rodriguez-produced PREDATORS reboot got placed in July 2010, it scared Seth Rogen’s THE GREEN HORNET project which then moved to December 17th, 2010 along with Sony’s other commodity, the hybrid flick THE SMURFS. And all of a sudden Disney placed TRON LEGACY on that same December weekend. Everybody assumed Sony is going to move SMURFS some other date so it won’t compete with GREEN HORNET and that’s exactly what just happened.
Comingsoon.net reported Sony has moved THE SMURFS to July 29th, 2011. What sucks for the blue little creatures is that their movie opens one weekend after the release of Marvel’s FIRST AVENGER: CAPTAIN AMERICA which opens on July 22nd, 2011. You know the audience is going to see the red-white-blue superhero again on the second weekend instead of watching THE SMURFS.
I’m just waiting to see if GREEN HORNET will run again because let’s face it, being on the same weekend as TRON LEGACY is pretty much a box office suicide, there’s no way Seth Rogen can compete with the sequel that geeks everywhere have been waiting for over 25 years. Generation today hardly even knows what GREEN HORNET is all about.
Nicolas Cage Will NOT Be GREEN HORNET’s Villain
Seth Rogen wanted Nic Cage as the villain in THE GREEN HORNET which by the way has started production (check out the set photos) but all this time a deal couldn’t get locked in, all we hear has been ‘in talks’ or ‘in negotiations’. Hollywood Reporter has spoken and Nic Cage has decided to exit the project. It says that the reason is because Cage and Columbia were not able to come to terms on a deal but if you ask me, I think it’s because Cage would rather tackle the 2 revenge thriller that he recently signed on for.. DRIVE ANGRY 3D and HUNGRY RABBIT JUMPS
So now the studio is searching for a new bad guy. Luckily for Rogen and director Michel Gondry, no scenes with Cage were shot yet for the movie. Cameron Diaz female lead and Jay Chou as kato but who do you think should replace Cage?
And what is up with movies starting production without having some of its key players? Recently we heard they already started filming THE A-TEAM when they have yet to find an actor to play Howlin’ Mad Murdock, we don’t even know who the villain is in that movie.
THE GREEN HORNET opens December 17th, 2010
