Here are 6 new photos, via comingsoon.net, from the upcoming big screen version of my favorite 80s series THE A-TEAM (watch the trailer). Liam Neeson plays Hannibal Smith. Sharlto Copley as Murdock. Bradley Cooper as Face and Rampage as B.A. Baracus. Also starring Jessica Biel. Directed by Joe Carnahan. Produced by Ridley and Tony Scott, with screenplay written by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt (Wanted). I’m still curious as to how mad Sharlto Copley’s Murdock is going to be in this movie, so far I got the impression that he’s going to be a lot calmer than the original character played by Dwight Schultz. Dirk Benedict Has A Cameo In THE A-TEAM
When it was revealed that original Howlin’ Mad Murdock, Dwight Schultz will be making cameo appearance in the big screen version of THE A-TEAM, I was wondering why they wouldn’t also call back Dirk Benedict and Mr. T to do the same, well, be careful what you wish for, right? Because DirkBenedictCentral says the original Templeton “Faceman” Peck will also be making a cameo, his character will be played by Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), great choice in my opinion… Read the rest of this entry »
Dwight Schultz Has A Cameo In THE A-TEAM
I know all this time I’ve been talking trash about Sharlto Copley for playing Howlin’ Mad Murdock in my most anticipated movie of 2010, THE A-TEAM based on one of the coolest TV series in the 80s. I’ve always pictured Jim Carrey or possibly Woody Harrelson for the role but not Copley. However, I’m willing to give him a fighting chance because turns out, the man who played Murdock in the original show, the great Dwight Schultz actually enjoyed Copley’s portrayal. Here’s the more awesome info though, Schultz will have a cameo in THE A-TEAM big screen version. Is that awesome or what!… Read the rest of this entry »
Look AT THE A-TEAM First Official Image
Holy crap! The first official image of THE A-TEAM has arrived and I’m stunned by how similar Liam Neeson’s appearance is to the late great George Peppard, complete with the cigar and the cocky smile and the outfit. Aside from Sharlto Copley as Murdock, I think this as close as you can get to perfect casting. Bradley Cooper as Face and Rampage as B.A. Baracus. Finally, my favorite series is getting a worthy big screen treatment. Director Joe Carnahan (Smokin’ Aces) better not screw this up!

ET’s THE A-TEAM Set Visit Video
The annoying Entertainment Tonight visited the set of my most anticipated movie of 2010, based on the best series from the 80s, THE A-TEAM and interviewed Bradley Cooper as Faceman, Jessica Biel plays his ex and Rampage is B.A. Baracus with his mohawk reminiscent of Mr. T. The funny thing is even though Sharlto Copley is playing Howlin’ Mad Murdock, from afar he kinds looks like Dirk Benedict who played Faceman in the series. Check out the very brief set footage after this jump… Read the rest of this entry »
Take A Look At The New A-TEAM
Wow! They look different yet strangely similar. The movie version of my favorite series back in the 80s, THE A-TEAM is currently filming in Vancouver and here is the spy photo, via comingsoon.net, showing
Rampage as B.A. “Bad Attitude” Baracus, no bling bling like what Mr. T used to wear, in fact Rampage looks like a bum..
Liam Neeson as Hannibal Smith, he dyed his hair white to remind us of the late great George Peppard,..
I’m still not completely sold on Sharlto Copley playing Murdock but now with that brown pilot jacket, Copley does make a good effort, though he doesn’t have a balding head like Dwight Schultz…
and then Bradley Cooper as Face, the ladies man, of course with the suit on but Dirk Benedict wouldn’t let his suit unbuttoned like that.
This just goes to show that THE A-TEAM movie most likely would not be as comical as the series, it’s going to be gritty and people are probably going to get shot this time, I remember that was the funny thing about that show, bullets were flying everywhere every episode but nobody got shot or killed.
Also starring Jessica Biel. Directed by Joe Carnahan. Produced by Ridley and Tony Scott, with screenplay written by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt (Wanted) THE A-TEAM opens June 11th, 2010
Patrick Wilson Joins THE A-TEAM. Look At The Van!
Now that the whole team is set, the filming has started in Canada and comingsoon has the photo of the new van which looks very similar the old van from the series. At least that one is faithful to the original, I may not completely agree with Sharlto Copley playing the insane chopper pilot Howlin’ Mad Murdock but since he already got the role, I can only hope that he’ll do right by the character.
Recently Jessica Biel got the female lead playing Face’s ex and now EW reported Watchmen’s Nite Owl, Patrick Wilson has also joined the cast playing a CIA operative, possibly assigned to hunt down the war vets convicted of a crime they didn’t commit and are now on the run as fugitives while helping the oppressed seek justice. It was my favorite series in the 80s which now has become my most anticipated movie of 2010. The big screen version will be more sleek than silly, this time people will get shot.
Liam Neeson plays Col. Hannibal Smith, Bradley Cooper plays Faceman, Rampage plays B.A. “Bad Attitude” Baracus, Sharlto Copley plays Howlin’ Mad Murdock. Produced by Ridley and Tony Scott, with screenplay written by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt (Wanted) THE A-TEAM opens June 11th, 2010
Jessica Biel Joins A-TEAM. Sharlto Copley Is Murdock
When the trades says ‘final negotiations’ that usually means it’s going to happen. When I heard that an offer has been made to Sharlto Copley to play Howlin’ Mad Murdock in THE A-TEAM movie, I didn’t like the idea. He was spectacular in District 9 but it seems hasty to cast him just because of that when there’s a perfectly good Woody Harrelson more suitable for the job. I’m blaming director Joe Carnahan, if this movie turns out awful, it’ll be his fault, I hated Smokin’ Aces.
But the inevitable has happened. Hollywood Reporter says Copley is in.. final negotiation.. to play the crazy chopper pilot in the movie version of my most favorite series in the 80s.
Along with Copley, Jessica Biel is also joining the cast, she’ll be playing Face’s ex-girlfriend who is now assigned to pursuit the team.
Right now, I just hope director Neil Blomkamp (District 9) is right because word has it he’s always been a big fan of Copley’s improvisational skills.. let’s hope those skills could help him do Mudock justice.

David Richmond-Peck Is NOT Gammons In THE A-TEAM
UPDATE: Moviehole says actor David Richmond Peck is NOT going to play Gammons in THE A-TEAM due scheduling conflict.
Real quick now, another addition to my most anticipated movie of 2010, THE A-TEAM, moviehole reported David Richmond-Peck, the Canadian actor that was interrogating Keanu Reeves in The Day The Earth Stood Still, has been cast as the character Gammons.
He was actually wanted to play the lead villain in the movie named Lynch, a CIA agent linked to the Army. Commander of Fort Bragg, which housed the stockade from which the team escaped.
Not much known about this Gammons dude and we still don’t have anybody playing Howlin’ Mad Murdock even though the role was supposedly offered to District 9’s Sharlto Copley but this is a pretty good update for now.
Based on my favorite 80s series about a group of Vietnam vets that became fugitives of the law and they help the weak and the oppressed for a living. Instead of Vietnam, the new version is Middle-East, more relevant that way. Liam Neeson plays Col. Hannibal Smith, Bradley Cooper plays Faceman, Rampage plays B.A. “Bad Attitude” Baracus. Production has started in Vancouver. Produced by Ridley and Tony Scott, with screenplay written by Derek Haas and Michael Brandt (Wanted) THE A-TEAM opens June 11th, 2010
Sharlto Copley As A-TEAM’s Howlin’ Mad Murdock?
Is it that hard to find the right actor to play Howlin’ Mad Murdock for THE A-TEAM Movie? Names have been thrown into the mix all this time from Jim Carrey, Sam Rockwell to Woody Harrelson, Steve Buscemi and director Joe Carnahan still can’t pick one?! As long as it’s not Chris Pine, I know he expressed interest but he’s too much of a poster boy and Cpt. Kirk to be playing crazy Murdock, you need someone who can act certifiably insane and at the same time can be surprisingly charismatic. My vote is for Harrelson
Blackfilm.com has added another name, this is not a confirmation. Sharlto Copley… Most of you are going ‘Shar who?’. He’s the talented actor who floored us in the mindblowing sci-fi District 9, his performance in that movie was tour-de-force! In person, he actually doesn’t look that nerdy at all
The website said an offer has been made to Copley.
I’m not completely against this idea. Believe it or not, I think Copley could pull it off, my only objection is the South African accent. I got nothing against the accent itself, it’s just that… part of what made Howlin’ Mad Murdock (Dwight Schultz) funny in the original series was his ability to mimic all kinds of mannerism, faces, and accents, much like what Jim Carrey has been doing all these years and last I heard Copley can only do one accent.. his own.
