SHERLOCK HOLMES 2 To Start Production In June

When word hit the web that Robert Downey Jr. won’t be starring in COWBOYS VS. ALIENS, the blame of “scheduling conflict” was put on SHERLOCK HOLMES 2. That can’t be any closer from the truth because EW said the shooting for the elementary sequel, my dear Watson, will start this June, in the same season that COWBOYS VS. ALIENS will also start its principal photography.
The sequel project hasn’t been officially greenlit yet by the studio but if you’d recall last September, WB brought in Kieran and Michele Mulroney to write a draft for SHERLOCK HOLMES 2 and those of you who’ve seen the first installment this past Christmas would know that a certain Moriarty will be take his reign in the next story.
Sherlock Holmes so far has earned $166 Million domestically but took in almost $300 Million in total worldwide.

Homoerotic Subtext Threatens SHERLOCK HOLMES Sequel?

Sherlock Holmes1

Bromantic comedy is under scrutiny, not everybody seems to think it’s a fun concept after all, certainly not the estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle which according to WENN has threatened to withdraw the screen rights to SHERLOCK HOLMES from director Guy Ritchie if Ritchie insists on keeping the hints at a homosexual relationship between Holmes and Watson for the sequel… Read the rest of this entry »

SHERLOCK HOLMES Review

sherlock holmes
It’s not elementary, Watson, it’s bromantic comedy. Guy Ritchie brings his style of storytelling and filmmaking to reintroduce SHERLOCK HOLMES in a much more fun, comical, bare knuckle adventure. That said, the movie does leave room for improvement but… Read the rest of this entry »

SHERLOCK HOLMES Pitch Concept Art

Posted by Rama On December - 23 - 2009

Sherlock Holmes

SHERLOCK HOLMES opens this weekend on Christmas Day, but way, way before filming even begun, Producer Lionel Wigram who wanted to re-invent the character, came up with a story treatment for SHERLOCK HOLMES but wanted something with more kick in order to present his pitch and so he went to DC Comics’ Gregory Noveck who then sent him to a Brit comic artist by the name of John Watkiss who’s done storyboarding work for movies in the past (Tarzan, Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow). According to Heatvision, with just $5,000 Wigram had Watkiss draw up artwork using the story as the direction. The results were the following badass concept art, black-and-white illustrations, kind of like a Sin City-esque Sherlock Holmes. A couple of months ago we saw a pitch video that Prince Of Persia game creator Jordan Mechner had to put together to convince Bruckheimer and Studio Execs that the character can be brought to the big screen, I guess either way works just as effective, comic or video. IRON MAN 2 Trailer Attached To SHERLOCK HOLMES?

Posted by Rama On November - 19 - 2009

iron-man

This Christmas, we might get more than one present, the one underneath the tree and the trailer for IRON MAN 2 which according to Favreau’s recent retweeting, it might arrive with SHERLOCK HOLMES which of course stars Tony Stark, Robert Downey Jr., as the famous fictional detective.
Some say IRON MAN 2 trailer may be attached to AVATAR instead which opens the weekend before, which kinda makes sense because James Cameron’s 3D epic movie is nothing short of.. well, epic, and all eyes are going to see it so it’d be wise to put IRON MAN 2 trailer as part of the previews.
But yeah, for now, expect the trailer attached to SHERLOCK HOLMES on Christmas Day! Ho, Ho, hot rod red!
