Via The Dailymail and Edinburghnews, we now can take a look at these first images of Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis in BURKE AND HARE. They’re mostly set photos. Based on a true story of Irish immigrants William Burke and William Hare who committed the infamous West Port murders in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1827 and 1828 where they killed and sold the corpses of 17 victims to the Edinburgh Medical College for dissection. Isla Fisher will play Burke’s girlfriend, an actress looking for a patron who might or might not be an accomplice to the murders.
Tom Wilkinson will play Dr. Robert Knox, an anatomy lecturer looking for fresh corpses. Also starring Tim Curry and Christopher Lee. Written by Piers Ashworth and Nick Moorcroft, directed by John Landis. Check out a couple more photos after this jump… Read the rest of this entry »

Just yesterday Simon Pegg tweeted saying that David Tennant has been replaced by Andy Serkis in the project BURKE AND HARE, directed by John Landis. Heat Vision has confirmed that by stating Tennant’s reason for leaving is because he will join the NBC pilot Rex Is My Lawyer. Now why on earth would you choose to do a series instead of a movie with Pegg and Landis is beyond me. Serkis is da man though, so all is cool now. STAR TREK arrives in DVD and Blu-Ray on November 17th, 2009 but the gag reel has showed up online and you can watch it using the vibrant video above. Some of the actors’ mistakes are pretty hilarious especially when they cuss… although the dance segment and J.J. Abrams‘ mic rhythm seem pointless. I can understand why Zachary Quinto kept messing up his line, it’s impossible to keep yourself from laughing if you have to stare at Simon Pegg’s funny lookin’ face.

I’ve seen this weekend’s movies, don’t worry, I’m going to post the reviews soon enough. Juggling too many things on a Friday has its consequences. But before I go and take care of some business. Check out the vibrant video above form whatispaul, a new video blog on the set of PAUL, the new comedy by Brit comedians Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz) about 2 geeks who encounter an alien. Here, Simon and Nick give us a more detailed look at the cast and crew that even reveals funny lady Jane Lynch in character as the Diner lady.

Jane Lynch is one of the funniest women on earth. Whether it’s TV or big screen gig, she’ll leave an impression because most of the time, her character would say the darnedest things ever, especially in Christopher Guest movies (For Your Consideration, A Mighty Wind, Best In Show).
Some of my favorite lines last year was said by Lynch in the hilarious comedy Role Models, here’s to refresh your memory..
“Me and the judge have a special relationship… I don’t wanna get too graphic but I sucked his dick for drugs.”
“You know what I used to have for breakfast? Cocaine. Know what I had for lunch? Cocaine.”
“Well, well, well. If it isn’t Mr. Bullshit and Dr. I’m-full-of-shit?”

Collider had a chance to chat with Lynch who revealed her character in the upcoming sci-fi comedy PAUL, by the 2 Brit funnymen, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost

“I play the owner of a restaurant called “The Alie-Inn”. It’s full of paraphernalia and everything and they stop at this place and they almost get beat up by these rednecks and I come to their aid.”

PAUL is the story of Graham Willy (Simon Pegg) and Clive Gollings (Nick Frost), two sci-fi enthusiasts from the UK. The film follows them on a once in a lifetime trip to America, starting with a visit to San Diego Comic Con. Having enjoyed the delights of the convention, the boys set off on a trip to Area 51 for a spot of light UFO tourism. However, their trip takes a sudden and dramatic turn when the boys happen upon a crashed government vehicle containing an Alien called Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen).

The other day, we were told that there’s a production blog What Is Paul? from the upcoming sci-fi action comedy PAUL from writers/Brit funnymen Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. And now it’s posted an intro vibrant video showing the duo saying hi to you from the film set in the desolate New Mexico.
The second one shows Joe Lo Truglio discusses the efforts of the film’s production to go green by saving on plastic water bottles and cups. And the third one is about Pegg, Frost and Kristen Wiig spending a day learning to drive the film’s featured RV under the watchful eye of ‘Al’.
