Ryan Reynolds is still busy trying to bring the fans a fair GREEN LANTERN portrayal and Jason Bateman.. well, if you ask me, other than acting in movies here and there including whatever project Jason Reitman is producing, Bateman continues on with preaching the soon coming of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT big screen treatment. These two individuals will collide in CHANGE UP… Read the rest of this entry »
Production For THE HANGOVER 2 Starts This Fall
Look it’s baby Carlos, I don’t know why Zach named him that because clearly the kid is blue-eyed. With those sunglasses on, I’d say the baby also had one helluva roofied good time last night. Will Baby Carlos return for THE HANGOVER 2, no word yet, last time I checked he and WB haven’t agreed on a deal that includes pay raise, that and he wants a more significant role in the sequel, demanding more screen time than the tiger, Tyson and the chicken combined. But all joking aside, via Collider, THE HANGOVER 2 according to director Todd Phillips, will start filming this fall.
I kid you not, when the Golden Globes awarded The Hangover Best Comedy of the year, I was euphoric, jumping up and down, doing backflip, cartwheel, breakdancing in joy because seriously, no other movie deserved it more. So we’ll see if THE HANGOVER 2 which would be set NOT in Vegas, could deliver the same success.
Rated-R Movies Are Like Porn In Australia
I feel a bit sorry for my friends in Australia now, because according to Gizmodo, the country from down under has gotten more conservative and uptight when it comes to film ratings. Get this, the South Australian government now has a law requiring all R-rated films for sale or hire to be segregated from all other movies of a lower rating. So there’s a chance that you’ll find the The Hangover DVD sold in the adult section of their local video store, probably next to the best of Jenna Jameson. But that’s not all, any type of advertising for R-rated films will also be illegal. Ouch!… Read the rest of this entry »
The 2010 WGA AWARDS Nominees. AVATAR Got Nominated, What The?
Something definitely has gone wrong with our world today because the nominees for the 2010 WGAAwards were announced today and James Cameron’s AVATAR got a nod for original screenplay category. Seriously? What in the blue hell? Isn’t that weakest part of the movie, the story? O and those unbearable lines that consist of b*tch this and b*tch that and they’re considering giving it an award. I’m tellin’ ya, people are too impressed with the 3D action that they’ve turned a blind eye to the fact that the story is as original as Dances With Wolves, The Last Samurai and Planet Of The Apes, and so many other movies that have done the same type of storyline but with way better writing than Cameron’s. As much as I liked The Hangover, I don’t think it should be on this list, this just goes to show that Writers Guild Of America has lost touch with what can be considered good quality work. I’m bettin’ Up In The Air will win for Adapted Screenplay and The Cove is favorite to win for Documentary.. AVATAR for original. seriously?! Check out the unfreakin’believable list after this jump… Read the rest of this entry »
THE HANGOVER Is No.1 Comedy DVD Of All Time. AVATAR Is No.3 In All-Time Worldwide
Before I go and close my eyes for the evening, I figured I’d kill 2 birds with one stone. I wasn’t talking metaphorically, I’m literally gonna go outside with my slingshot and kill 2 birds. I kid. Warner Bros. has something to be proud about today, the highest grossing R-rated comedy of all time ($467 Million), THE HANGOVER, has become the number 1 selling comedy DVD of all time since both the Blu-Ray and DVD hit the streets on December 15th, 2009, with combined consumer and rental sales topping 8.6 million units with 1.5 million units coming from Blu-ray purchases.
On another note, what I thought was going to be gradual, AVATAR is breaking record fast like it’s nobody’s business. In terms of worldwide box office total, with $1.09 billion, AVATAR has taken no. 3 from Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest which went down to no. 4 with $1.06 Billion
AVATAR is quickly closing in on the 2nd spot currently owned by Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King with $1.12 Billion. It’s just a matter of time.
Could you imagine what this would do to Cameron’s ego if TITANIC and AVATAR were to end up as the top two worldwide B.O. champs of all time? His head big would get so big, he wouldn’t fit through the door.

THE HANGOVER 2 In Thailand?
Director Todd Phillips previously said that the script for THE HANGOVER 2 was halfway done and the story may not be set in Vegas. So where will it be? Where will Stu, Alan, and Phil find themselves in the morning with major headaches, forgetting everything they did the night before? Atlantic City? New York? San Francisco? How bout going away from major cities in the USA and go all across the globe to South East Asia? CHUD has heard that the location for THE HANGOVER 2 story might be Bangkok, Thailand.. AFI’s Top 10 Best Films Of 2009 Includes THE HANGOVER, Denies AVATAR
The American Film Institute has announced their 10 Best movies of the year and 10 outstanding TV shows as well, two of which are my favorite, Modern Family and True Blood, it’s a shame that Dexter didn’t make it in the list. But since this is a movie blog, thought you might wanna check out their selection for the 10 movies, most of them obviously drama but they mention The Hangover, which I don’t mind, I think it’s everybody’s favorite movie of the year. I’d be more shocked if this culminates in The Hangover being nominated for Oscar’s Best Picture category. But look, AVATAR is not here, THE ROAD and MOON are not in either… in the words of Ed Helm’s character in The Hangover… “What is going on here!”
Check out the list after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »
