Rama's Screen

Reshoot is a normal thing. Sometimes it just had to be done, for the movie to look better. JONAH HEX did it, I hear Lucas did it for his new movie, and THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE (Watch the trailer) also had to reshoot some scenes recently in New York City. Maybe director Turtleltaub wasn’t satisfied with what they had in the bag so far. You can check out the rest of the set photos over at accidentalsexiness but I like the one above of Nicolas Cage.. turns out no matter how powerful a sorcerer may be, he still needs those magical apps on his iPhone.

Disney has released the trailer for THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE, via Apple, you can watch it using the media player below. Starring Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, directed by Jon Turtletaub (National Treasure). It kinda fooled me at first, I thought I was watching another trailer for PERCY JACKSON. By the way, Alfred Molina is going to be in 2 Disney big budget action adventure movie next year, this one and PRINCE OF PERSIA. Finally! After so many spy and set photos of VanHelsing-like Nic Cage, thanks to Spoiler TV, now we got to see some shots of the ultimate cougar Monica Bellucci (The Matrix Reloaded) as Veronica, a Sorceress and the love intersest of Cage’s character Balthazar Blake.
Directed by Jon Turtletaub (National Treasure) the story is based on the animated classic Fantasia, it centers a sorcerer who recruits and trains a young protege to help him fight the forces of darkness in modern-day Manhattan

You know it’s on when the size of the image is bigger than the info. A beauty like Monica Bellucci deserves such treatment. According to Variety, the world’s 8th wonder from Italy has joined the cast of Disney’s THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE starring Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Toby Kebbell directed by Jon Turtletaub (National Treasure) the story is based on the animated classic Fantasia, it centers a sorcerer who recruits and trains a young protege to help him fight the forces of darkness in modern-day Manhattan. Bellucci, who’s fluent in Italian, English, French, Spanish and the language of sex, is going to play a sorceress and the long-lost love of Nicolas Cage’s character, Balthazar Blake. In a way, this casting info baffles me because the production has been going on for quite some time in New York City. We’ve even seen set photos, why wasn’t she announced earlier with the rest of the gang instead of late like this. An inside man gave Thebadandugly some more spy photos from the set of THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE starring Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel. Most of the photos are blurry, you can hardly see what’s going on but obviously they were from the Chinatown scene, you can see the complete set OVER THERE.
But the one above is pretty cool, it’s a shot of what appears to be a set-in-progress of a Crysler Building facade, what do you think that scene’s going to be about?

THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE opens July 16th, 2010

According to Variety, Rocknrolla actor Toby Kebbell has joined the cast of THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE, starring Jay Baruchel and Nicolas Cage (check out his Van Helsing look), directed by Jon Turtletaub.
Kebbell will play the character Drake Stone, a celebrity illusionist who joins forces with Alfred Molina’s evil sorcerer. Also starring hottie Teresa Palmer.

Based on the popular segment in Disney’s animated classic Fantasia, the story takes place in contemporary New York, where a wizard (Nicolas Cage) searches for an apprentice (Jay Baruchel).
Kebbell was in Match Point and Control but his eccentric role in Guy Ritchie’s Rocknrolla is probably where he finally gets more recognizable, plus having the movie poster with him as the headline kinda helped.
