As you know I’m a die hard fan of Quentin Tarantino, so when I watched these vibrant videos at slashfilm, I knew I had to share ‘em with you guys. In a recent panel in Santa Barbara this past weekend, via Hollywood Elsewhere, QT talked about how no matter what Brian de Palma did, there’s always Marty Scorsese that just topped his work, and also about first week of directing Reservoir Dogs and last but not least what he would’ve changed about Kill Bill if he had seen AVATAR first. What never ceases to impress me about QT is his sense of humor when telling a story, I mean the guy was sitting next to Todd Phillips, the director of last year’s funniest movie The Hangover but Tarantino’s hilarious comments and comeback seem to have stolen the event. Look it’s baby Carlos, I don’t know why Zach named him that because clearly the kid is blue-eyed. With those sunglasses on, I’d say the baby also had one helluva roofied good time last night. Will Baby Carlos return for THE HANGOVER 2, no word yet, last time I checked he and WB haven’t agreed on a deal that includes pay raise, that and he wants a more significant role in the sequel, demanding more screen time than the tiger, Tyson and the chicken combined. But all joking aside, via Collider, THE HANGOVER 2 according to director Todd Phillips, will start filming this fall.
I kid you not, when the Golden Globes awarded The Hangover Best Comedy of the year, I was euphoric, jumping up and down, doing backflip, cartwheel, breakdancing in joy because seriously, no other movie deserved it more. So we’ll see if THE HANGOVER 2 which would be set NOT in Vegas, could deliver the same success.

Director Todd Phillips previously said that the script for THE HANGOVER 2 was halfway done and the story may not be set in Vegas. So where will it be? Where will Stu, Alan, and Phil find themselves in the morning with major headaches, forgetting everything they did the night before? Atlantic City? New York? San Francisco? How bout going away from major cities in the USA and go all across the globe to South East Asia? CHUD has heard that the location for THE HANGOVER 2 story might be Bangkok, Thailand.. If you’d recall, talks of THE HANGOVER 2 already started before The Hangover was even released this past summer, the studio acted simply on how well it was received at test screenings. The hilarious movie about three guys who can’t remember what happened the night before in Vegas and lost their groom friend went on to become the highest grossing R-rated comedy of all time banking $277 Million domestically. The sequel hasn’t been greenlit yet and thank God for people like Zach Galifianakis who’s not hasty about jumping in for second round if the script is not right. It’s hard not to love Michelle Monaghan especially after watching Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, one of the most under-appreciated, hilarious comedy of the decade, I don’t care if millions haven’t watched it as long as I did and no regrets. I thought Made of Honor was a funny rom-com but it wouldn’t have done well if it hadn’t starred Monaghan whose outside appearance is a definite show stopper.
According to Variety, she’s going to reunite with Kiss Kiss co-star Robert Downey Jr. for a comedy DUE DATE also starring Zach Galifianakis, directed by The Hangover helmer Todd Phillips. I can see the poster now, it would say ‘from the director of Old School and The Hangover’

Monaghan will play Downey’s pregnant wife. Downey races home in hopes of arriving before she delivers their first child but takes on a mismatched traveling companion, played by our funny fern, the fat bearded Zach
Monaghan has an Oscar worthy movie coming up this fall, TRUCKER (check out the trailer), people say she might get nominated and as much as I’d like for that to happen, I have my doubts because nominating poor trailer park trash female characters have happened way too often in the past (Monster’s Ball, Monster, North Country, Million Dollar Baby, Frozen River)
But at least Monaghan would get to bust her acting chops in that one because Eagle Eye and Gone Baby Gone didn’t allow her to showcase much of her skills,.. great thrillers though.
