After an international trailer and an English language trailer but with foreign subtitles, now Apple has released the domestic trailer for THE GHOST WRITER directed by house prisoner Roman Polanski. Obviously, just like the domestic poster which is more stylized, U.S. version of the trailer just has to give you that thriller, more mysterious, more adrenaline rush effect, like writing a memoir could be the most dangerous job in the world, who knew its life expectancy could be short. Just yesterday Simon Pegg tweeted saying that David Tennant has been replaced by Andy Serkis in the project BURKE AND HARE, directed by John Landis. Heat Vision has confirmed that by stating Tennant’s reason for leaving is because he will join the NBC pilot Rex Is My Lawyer. Now why on earth would you choose to do a series instead of a movie with Pegg and Landis is beyond me. Serkis is da man though, so all is cool now. Alright! This is what I’m talkin’ about, a gangster drama from the writers of Sexy Beast, David Scinto, Louis Mellis . That’s good enough credit for me to say ‘count me in!’ On top of that, it stars some of the most old badass Brit Thesps around, Ray Winstone, John Hurt, Tom Wilkinson, Ian McShane. The trailer for 44 INCH CHEST has hit the web, you can watch it using the media player below. Winstone plays a jealous husband named Colin Diamond who discovers that his wife of twenty years is having an affair with a good-looking younger man. With the help of his gangster friends, they kidnap his wife’s young lover, seeking retribution for his wounded ego but of course complications ensue. Looks like something that Guy Ritchie would come up with if he were to cast senior citizens only. There’s bound to be some cursing and beating. If you haven’t seen Carey Mulligan this year in the excellent movie An Education, make sure you put that on your must-see list and check your local theaters to see if they’re playing it because come spring of next year she’d get either nominated or actually take home a golden statuette herself. And just like how Phillip Seymour Hoffman followed up his Capote win with a great villain role in MI:3, I think Mulligan would still be able to capture our heart playing Shia’s girl in the upcoming WALL STREET 2. Earlier today, The Playlist reported that Evan Rachel Wood and Toby Kebbel have joined the cast of Robert Redford-directed period thriller/drama THE CONSPIRATOR, with the script written by James Solomon. We even got a couple of first look photos. about the infamous Mary Surratt, the woman President Andrew Johnson called as second only to John Wilkes Booth in the assassination plot of the 16th President of United States.
She sympathized with the Confederates and supplied Wilkes Booth and his accomplice weapons at her tavern after the murder took place at the Ford’s theater. Surratt’s son John was also alleged to be part of the conspiracy, was also put on trial but was never convicted.
Mary Surrat, however, was found guilty. She went down in history as the first woman ever executed by the United States federal government, and was hanged by the neck til dead in 1865. And now Variety reported that the project has gained 3 more actors, Tom Wilkinson, Kevin Kline and Alexis Bledel. Columbia Pictures has announced that the principal photography for THE GREEN HORNET, co-written by and starring Seth Rogen has officially started. That and Tom Wilkinson (Michael Clayton) and David Harbour (Revolutionary Road) are joining the cast, no word yet on what characters they’ll be playing but Edward James Olmos’ involvement is now confirmed, although Nicolas Cage as the villain apparently is still in the process.
