I’m about to go and watch what’s been described as the scariest movie of of the year, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, so before I head out, I figured let’s travel through the frightville quickly. According to Variety, the company behind all of those SAW movies we love so much every Halloween season, Twisted Pictures have bought the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE Franchise
In other words, Leatherface is now Jigsaw’s b*atch!
Part of the deal, and don’t look surprised, is that there will be yet another TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE Movie.. and it’s going to be in 3D just like all the rest of horror flicks nowadays.
The new take will be written by Stephen Susco (The Grudge) and produced by Carl Mazzocone, Mark Burg and Oren Koules will produce and guess what.. after these 3D action, there’ll be even more to come because the deal includes… multiple films.. God help us all. The only thing exciting about watching the 2003 version was watching Jessica Biel’s tight jeans grab hold of her behind.
It earned $80 Million domestically and the 2006 movie earned $39 Million so yes it does have quite the fanbase, people who are willing to pay just to watch this charade over and over again.
It’d be fun if the new Leatherface comes up to its victims while riding a tricycle.
