Priest, Eagle of the Ninth, Underworld 4

Real quick now, via ercboxoffice and boxofficemojo, there’s been some shuffling going on, release dates have been changed to make sure certain movies don’t have to compete against blockbuster giants. So here they are… Read the rest of this entry »

Underworld

We heard the info this past summer telling us that Sony’s Screen Gems is definitely going to develop UNDERWORLD 4 and it’s scheduled for release in January 2011 and it’s going to be in 3D.  No word yet what format it’ll take (prequel, sequel) and whether or not the stars: Kate Beckinsale, Michael Sheen, Scott Speedman, Rhona Mitra, Bill Nighy will reprise their role in any capacity. There’s been a development, Heat Vision states that one of the writers of one of my favorite series from this past decade, The Shield, John Hlavin has been hired to write the script for UNDERWORLD 4Read the rest of this entry »

Kate Beckinsale Doesn’t Know Much About UNDERWORLD 4

Kate Beckinsale Underworld

Shortly after the announcement that Screen Gems is going to develop UNDERWORLD 4 in 3D, a rumor hit the web that Kate Beckinsale might return to the franchise, she wasn’t in the third movie because it was a prequel starring Rhona Mitra. I personally would like to see Kate back wearing tight pleather again but apparently she doesn’t feel the same way, via Collider

I don’t know anything about a 4th Underworld. I don’t know anything about that at this point.
I know they have…it was always conceived as a trilogy, which I was never going to be in the third one. I think if they came up with an amazing script I wouldn’t be adverse to it. But it’s not planned or anything.

When confronted with a rumor that there might be another new UNDERWORLD trilogy, Beckinsale was surprised…

I don’t think my daughter needs to see my bottom in rubber for another ten years. But I don’t know, I’ve heard they’re talking about a 4th one, but I don’t know if that’s officially happening or it’s that a rumor. As far as I’m concerned it’s just a rumor.

au contraire, I think her daughter would be proud to see her mom wearing rubber and being fantasized about by every men on earth.
But in all seriousness, let’s be real here.. May I? may I be real with you here? It’s not like Kate Beckinsale is talented enough to win Oscar anytime soon, she tried through Snow Angels and Nothing But The Truth but the harsh fact she just doesn’t have it yet, that ability to really disappear in her character, that towering performance… so her best bet would be to stay with horror/action genre, hell isn’t that why she took on the upcoming adaptation Whiteout anyway?! That’s like Selene in Antarctica.
Just like Vin Diesel, Harrison Ford, Bruce Willis, and Milla Jovovich, sometimes Kate Beckinsale would just have to suck it up and return to the franchise that’s been good to her.

UNDERWORLD 4 Is Happening.. In 3D

Underworld

Sooner or later it’s bound to happen.. whatever happened to the good old days when trilogy was deemed as the perfect completion, but everything just has to have a fouth nowadays. Die Hard, Indiana Jones, Resident Evil, Rambo, Final Destination, Scream and now UNDERWORLD franchise wants in on the race. According to Shocktilyoudrop, Sony’s Screen Gems is definitely going to develop UNDERWORLD 4 and it’s scheduled for release in January 2011.

No word yet what format it’ll take (prequel, sequel) and whether or not the stars: Kate Beckinsale, Michael Sheen, Scott Speedman, Rhona Mitra, Bill Nighy will reprise their role in any capacity.
That’s not all, of course the studio wants to apply today’s trend and that is, the movie will be in 3D.
Ya know what I’m thinking.. with all these live action movies turning 3D, soon enough, 3D sunglasses would be a requirement to enter a theater and it would skyrocket matinee prices to an even crazier unaffordable range.
Rob Zemeckis (director of the upcoming A Christmas Carol 3D) said at the Comic-Con ‘09 that 3D is the future… be that as it may but at what cost? Are willing to pay more to get entertained? In this crappy economy?
