Last November, comic book writer Mark Millar (Wanted, Kick-Ass) announced that he will be directing his own superhero movie but not by way of studio but by private independent financing. He recently talked to IGN and although he didn’t reveal the plot, he did say that it will be an “unusual superhero property”, shooting is expected to start this year in Scotland, and then they will make the movie travel through festival circuit after Christmas. I’m not too excited about the prospect of Millar’s directorial debut because the last time a comic book writer tried to direct a movie, the result was the disastrous Frank Miller’s The Spirit. BLACK LIGHTNING Full Int’l Trailer
We saw the previous teaser and now Twitch has the full international trailer for BLACK LIGHTNING, produced by Wanted director Timur Bekmambetov, directed by Alexandr Voitinsky and Dmitriy Kiselev. I gotta admit, the VFX looks awesome. The duel between 2 flying cars in the end is kinda cool, the hero is flying on old rusty Volga, and the villain is flying on luxury Mercedes. The movie was made with a budget of only $8 Million and if it’s a big hit in Russia, who knows, we might see it here in the U.S. hopefully next year, either that or an American remake which I think should star Hayden Christensen cause that Russian kid sure looks a lot like Annakin. WANTED Trailer #2
I’m still recuperating from that marathon. My legs hurt like hell, not to mention last night I got to watch 10,000 BC at its world premiere and the movie was disappointing, still recuperating from that too.
Early this morning, the new trailer for Angelina’s Jolie new movie WANTED has hit the web. It stars Morgan Freeman and James McAvoy (Atonement) who plays a young man trained to become the next great assassin.
Somebody should’ve trained Hayden Christensen (Awake) to become the next great talent, but since he didn’t have talent to begin with, it was a lost cause from the get-go.
WANTED is released June 27th, 2008. It’s got slo-mo bullet action and high speed chase with ridiculous CGI stunt work, I’m asking you what do you think about this new trailer? Do you think it’s all too fake, that coolness isn’t written all over it anymore? Let me know in the comment section below.
