WB Wants WIZARD OF OZ Remake In 3D

Posted by Rama On March - 9 - 2010

Wizard-of-Oz

As disappointing as Tim Burton’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND was, it did bank about $210 Million in its opening weekend so with that kind of money, every studio in town is thinking all you need is take a classic tale and plaster today’s 3D mania all over it and voila! You got yourself a box office win. The upcoming CLASH OF THE TITANS is another example of why this strategy will work. LA TIMES said WB wants the same for THE WIZARD OF OZ remake… Read the rest of this entry »

The following are 2 WB-related info so I figured let’s kill 2 birds with one stone. According to Deadline Hollywood, WB has picked up Steven Soderbergh’s thriller CONTAGION, with Participant Media co-financing and a $60 Million budget.. Read the rest of this entry »

Mike Newell To Direct Untitled WB’s KGB Spy Movie

Posted by Rama On February - 12 - 2010

Mike Newell

I remember following this on the news a few years back, I remember the image of that patient above like it was yesterday because the media was covering his condition and the situation surrounding it like crazy. This KGB spy dude named Alexander Litvinenko accused Russian President Vladimir Putin for being involved in him being poisoned by polonium-2010 as he lied in his hospital deathbed in London. I was watching the coverage and I was thinking ‘man, conspiracy stuff, like straight out of a movie’… Read the rest of this entry »

WB Lives In A HEIST SOCIETY

Posted by Rama On February - 6 - 2010

Heist Society Book

Studios would go into war just to buy screen rights to popular books, especially those that haven’t hit the stores yet. According to Hollywood Reporter, HEIST SOCIETY .. catchy title…by author Ally Carter (Gallagher Girls) will be released this coming Tuesday but WB, after kicking Paramount, Disney and Summit, will get to turn it into a movie. The story itself has been described as a teenage Thomas Crown Affair. The studio has hired Shauna Cross (Whip It) to pen the script. Denise Di Novi (The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants) Di Novi Pictures’ Alison Greenspan will be producing. The lead character in the story is a teen attending a boarding school but for the movie’s sake, they’re going to hike up her age to early 20s… Read the rest of this entry »

clash-of-the-titans

Is it going to be 3D… or NOT 3D?? CLASH OF THE TITANS the remake once again is entering this ring for the third time around after Sam Worthington said it might get converted to 3D but director Louis Leterrier then said there’s just no time, he felt the result would be insignificant compared to James Cameron’s AVATAR. I don’t know why Leterrier had to cut himself short like that, I thought The Incredible Hulk was awesome and that wasn’t in 3D. Heat Vision is now reporting that whether or not CLASH OF THE TITANS will be getting a 3D treatment will be decided in the next 10 days… Read the rest of this entry »

WB’s 2010 Preview Offers First Look Photos

Posted by Rama On December - 4 - 2009

Warner Bros. 2010

Yesterday, Warner Bros. gave the world a preview of its 2010 line up. Nothing much, mostly list of titles and their release dates but it did offer some new first look photos of upcoming movies. But what’s worth noticing is that Kevin Smith’s new comedy which kept going back and forth from A COUPLE OF DICKS to A COUPLE OF COPS is now UNTITLED COP COMEDY, seems like Smith and the studio still don’t see eye to eye about the title yet. Too bad the preview didn’t give us a first look at INCEPTION but it has some more, including Ben Affleck’s crime drama THE TOWN. I’ve included some of them here, check ‘em out after the jump… Read the rest of this entry »

SGT. ROCK Goes Into The Future

Posted by Rama On November - 9 - 2009

Sgt. Rock

I’m not too familiar with the DC comics’ SGT. ROCK but it has been passion project for super producer Joel Silver for nearly 20 years and it will now finally see the light of day, for reals this time. According to Hollywood Reporter, Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend) is set to direct, scribe Chad St. John will write the screenplay and Akiva Goldsman will help Silver in producing the project that will be housed at Warner Bros. But here’s the twist, they’re going to change the setting from WWII into the future… Read the rest of this entry »
