I’m currently taking care of a few things in Nor-Cal but real quick now, if you’re like actress Mikaela Hoover who’s been anticipating SCREAM 4, you’ll be glad to know that hidden in a recent LA Times article, via slashfilm, profiling director Wes Craven, is this following statement… Read the rest of this entry »

3 of the original stars David Arquette, Courtney Cox and Neve Campbell will all reprise their roles while Wes Craven is open to the possibility of returning to the franchise to direct this fourth installment but he hasn’t officially signed on yet. Scream

As we know, Kevin Williamson is writing a new Scream trilogy starting with SCREAM 4. Wes Craven wasn’t against the idea to direct again and the guys who will return for sure are Neve Campbell, David Arquette and his lover Courtney Cox but obviously only because they got nothing better to do.
The following info should not take you by surprise because every single horror sequels and remakes nowadays are jumping on the 3D bandwagon and they don’t give a damn what we think… Read the rest of this entry »

Wes Craven’s 25/8 Turns Into MY SOUL TO TAKE

Wes Craven

Last we checked, Wes Craven was open to the idea of returning to direct the new SCREAM Trilogy, currently written by Kevin Williamson. He didn’t say yes but he didn’t say no either but he’s definitely interested. Smart tactic, keep the suspense coming.. will he or will he not? Personally, I think the idea of having a new SCREAM Trilogy is about as appealing as Gilbert Gottfried, who is not appealing at all.
But that’s not Craven’s next movie,… Read the rest of this entry »

Neve Campbell

Bob Weinstein has spoken and everybody tuned in as he shared what he had in store for me and you and me and the world wide web. Via Variety, he’s confirmed that Neve Campbell will reprise her role as Sidney Prescott in SCREAM 4 which is set to be the first of a new trilogy. She will be joining Courtney Cox and David Arquette who previously had signed on to return as well.
And guess what… Wes Craven is in talks to come back as the director too
This is like a big fat reunion that none of us wanted but it’s happening anyway.
Production is scheduled to start either in April or May of 2010

Next stop, SPY KIDS 4.. excuse me, who the hell ordered SPY KIDS 4? Cause I sure as hell did not! After watching Shorts, I couldn’t believe Robert Rodriguez kept making these unbearable children’s movies.
Rodriguez is writing SPY KIDS 4 which will be in 3D, he will direct and work on it with Disney. Production will start in March. If you have kids and you care about them, I suggest taking them to watch Pixar movies instead of any of Rodriguez’s poor excuses for family films.

And the rest are pretty much a recap of what we already know. Weinstein basically just reminds everyone that there are going to be sequels to HELLRAISER and SCANNERS in 3D. As some of you remember, there’s going to be remakes of SHORT CIRCUIT and AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON and CHILDREN OF THE CORN and then of course HALLOWEEN 3D
Let’s see… sequels and remakes…Come to think of it, maybe Bob Weinstein was better off not sharing any of these in the first place.

It was recently announced that the writer of the first SCREAM Movie, Kevin Williamson is writing a new SCREAM Trilogy with David Arquette and his wife, Courtney Cox returning to the franchise. The original director Wes Craven talked to digital spy and confirmed the Arquette’s involvement but he said everybody else will be new. So not even Drew Barrymore and Neve Campbell are being invited. And Craven won’t mind directing the project again

“I don’t think it’s a reboot and Kevin, when he talked to me, said, ‘Remember, it’s not just Scream 4, it’s Scream 5 and 6.’ So I guess he has a trilogy in mind.”

“Bob Weinstein (The Weinstein Company co-chairman) has talked to me, he’s interested in me directing it. I had a brief conversation with Kevin [Williamson], I know that Kevin is writing. What I’ve said to Bob is I’m not closed to it, I’m not open to it, I’ll be perfectly happy to read a script and tell him what I think”

I once said that every time I see that mask now, all I can remember is the Wayans Brothers’ spoof Scary Movie and I’d laugh, the mask doesn’t have that frightening effect anymore.
Craven said in the interview that though he laughed at the parody but he was annoyed that somebody used his “very shots and I “didn’t have any financial participation in it.
