Make no mistake, THE EXORCIST is still the scariest movie of all time. Paranormal Activity comes close but doesn’t surpass the 1973 classic. It was based on a novel by author William Peter Blatty who also wrote the screenplay, directed by Oscar winning filmmaker William Friedkin, the scarefest itself was nominated for Best Picture believe it or not. Her’s a shocker, Blatty recently implied that there’s going to be a remake or a reboot with younger stars, to be directed by Friedkin again and he also mentioned in an interview with Cemetery Dance (via Bloody-Disgusting) that THE EXORCIST miniseries is also in the works.
