Real quick now, here’s one for those of you who are fans of the hit-and-miss spectacle we’d like to call Dreamworks Animation. Late last month, the studio that brought us the awesome Kung Fu Panda and the not so awesome Monsters Vs. Aliens revealed their future line-ups.. and for the slot November 12th, 2012 was being determined between 3 projects: THE CROODS, TRUCKERS or the SUPER SECRET GHOST PROJECTS.

Now, it’s clear to see which one gets to be the winner because according to Hollywood Reporter, the studio is moving forward with the Ghost Project which is now titled.. BOO U.
They can’t even come up with a decent title.
The story centers on a ghost who is bad at his job and must return to ghost school. Scribe John Vitti (The Simpsons Movie) has been hired to pen the screenplay and the project will be directed by Tony Leondis who helmed Igor which I thought was just average, it wasn’t quite as entertaining as I expected.
Gil Netter and Courtney Pledger exec-produce BOO U

I’m sure somewhere right now, Casper is calling his agent, demanding to get the lead in this movie.

The report also said that apparently there were 2 other Ghost projects that Dreamworks was considering. One was FREAKERS which is no longer active, and the other one is in the pitch stage… but BOO U gets the greenlight.
What does a ghost have to do around here to get its own animated movie?!
