It ain’t the next Batman movie but this info will do til then, it’s probably the next best thing for now. For those of us who love THE DARK KNIGHT, and I’m not talking about lovy dubby love, I’m talking about hardcore admirer, watching in IMAX over and over again kinda love, then you’ll be excited to hear that according to Reuters, THE DARK KNIGHT is aiming for the Oscars and to do that the studio has decided to re-release the blockbuster phenomena in IMAX theaters come January 2009 during the height of Academy Awards voting season.
No confirmation yet on whether it will also be released in conventional theaters.. but who cares, right?! As long as we can watch Heath Ledger in all his greatness as THE JOKER on that super giant big screen… then only thing left is for Oscar voters to give him the nomination he so richly deserves.
That and I think at the least, the movie also deserves a nomination in Best Screenplay.
Are you looking forward to watching THE DARK KNIGHT again this coming January or are you tired of hearing about it?
The sad thing is that the word goes that the movie will hit DVD and Blu-Ray this Christmas season so there might be chance anymore to sink Titanic’s record.
I guess TDK will have to settle for second best in the all-time box office record.
It could take comfort in knowing that it will reach $1 Billion worldwide.
