So I’m gonna make this as quick and painless as possible. According to Variety, your friendly neighborhood Tobey Maguire is going to star in an indie black comedy titled THE DETAILS written and directed by Jacob Estes who brought us the awful Mean Creek (2004)
James McAvoy was supposed to be in this role but the Wanted star had to drop the project due to scheduling conflicts. This will be Maguire’s next gig before he puts on the Spider-Man suit again for the fourth installment.
Director Estes said that Maguire’s character in THE DETAILS is “an everyman in the sense that he is composed of a morally ambiguous core,” “He has good intentions, but he makes a lot of self-destructive mistakes.”

Co-starring Elizabeth Banks, the story centers on a couple whose marriage is already rocky as it is, they see their lives further complicated by ravenous raccoons burrowing under the sod in their back yard. A disagreement over how to kill the damn pests creates a chain reaction that include a murder by bow and arrow and other mishaps.
Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert and Anna Friel are also in this project plus Laura Linney who’s set to play an eccentric neighbor.
