Warner Bros. has something to be proud about today, the highest grossing R-rated comedy of all time ($467 Million), THE HANGOVER, has become the number 1 selling comedy DVD of all time since both the Blu-Ray and DVD hit the streets on December 15th, 2009, with combined consumer and rental sales topping 8.6 million units with 1.5 million units coming from Blu-ray purchases.
On another note, what I thought was going to be gradual, AVATAR is breaking record fast like it’s nobody’s business. In terms of worldwide box office total, with $1.09 billion, AVATAR has taken no. 3 from Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest which went down to no. 4 with $1.06 Billion
AVATAR is quickly closing in on the 2nd spot currently owned by Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King with $1.12 Billion. It’s just a matter of time.
Could you imagine what this would do to Cameron’s ego if TITANIC and AVATAR were to end up as the top two worldwide B.O. champs of all time? His head big would get so big, he wouldn’t fit through the door.
