According to End of Show, Columbia Pictures have greenlit the production on THE SOCIAL NETWORK, which is about the birth and rise of the biggest social networking website on the planet, Facebook and its founders Eduardo Saverin and Mark Zuckerberg using a script by Aaron Sorkin based on the book The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal by Ben Mezrich (check out synopsis), via slashfilm.
Fight Club and Benjamin Button director David Fincher is officially locked in to direct, the deal has been signed and Scott Rudin, Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti will be producing. Production starts this October with a budget of $47 Million
Right now they are looking for cast and will be shooting in locations in Cambridge and Boston.
Michael Cera and Shia Labeouf were previously rumored to play Mark Zuckerberg.
