You know it’s on when the size of the image is bigger than the info. A beauty like Monica Bellucci deserves such treatment. According to Variety, the world’s 8th wonder from Italy has joined the cast of Disney’s THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE starring Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina, Toby Kebbell directed by Jon Turtletaub (National Treasure) the story is based on the animated classic Fantasia, it centers a sorcerer who recruits and trains a young protege to help him fight the forces of darkness in modern-day Manhattan. Bellucci, who’s fluent in Italian, English, French, Spanish and the language of sex, is going to play a sorceress and the long-lost love of Nicolas Cage’s character, Balthazar Blake. In a way, this casting info baffles me because the production has been going on for quite some time in New York City. We’ve even seen set photos, why wasn’t she announced earlier with the rest of the gang instead of late like this. But hey, when it comes to a chance to work/hang out with Bellucci, better late than never. THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE opens July 16th, 2010
