This week, there’s a secret test screening in Hollywood and the only tagline it uses to invite audiences is that it will have you ‘howlin’ at the moon’, I’m guessing it’s THE WOLFMAN because what else could it be?! We saw the previous haunting noir style and filmsanctu has this international poster for THE WOLFMAN (watch the trailer). Maybe those are Hopkins and Del Toro’s hands. But here’s what’s interesting, slashfilm pointed out that 2 great editors Mark Goldblatt (Terminator 2: Judgment Day) and Walter Murch (The English Patient) are re-working the film that’s been previously edited by Dennis Virkler (The Fugitive). Blogger Connelly thinks director “Joe Johnston shot a lot of coverage and has left Goldblatt and Murch options open as much as possible fashion something at least efficient and functional out of the Wolfman rushes”

WolfMan

Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, The Wolfman brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Oscar winner Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother…and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself. Joe Johnston directs The Wolfman, and six-time Oscar®-winning special effects artist Rick Baker brings his design and makeup talents to transform Del Toro into the fearsome title character

THE WOLF MAN opens February 12th, 2009
