This trailer weighs SEVEN POUNDS

Seven PoundsAnd the Oscar goes to… Will Smith! Well, that’s a possibility if this movie serves him well. This could be yet another chance for him to have his name listed among the top nomination. The fact that he reunited with his Pursuit of Happyness director Gabriel Muccino who helped him get his second nomination a couple of years ago might help.
The trailer for SEVEN POUNDS has hit the web. The film follows Smith as an IRS agent who embarks on a secret journey of redemption by forever changing the lives of seven strangers. An IRS with a conscience,… well how bout that?! I thought that could only happen when pigs starts to fly.
The trailer gives me the impression like he’s doing this gesture without those seven lives being able to know who he is, like he’s some sort of ‘Highway to Heaven’ angel or something, like there’s a deal he they have to follow that keeps him from falling for Rosario Dawson’s character. Can you help someone and not be completely truthful about it? Or do you owe it to that person who you and what your intention is in doing the noble act? These questions will hopefully attract drama loving audience to want to see this movie other than the fact that Will Smith is in it.
By the way, correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t God create the world in six days and rested on the seventh?! He didn’t create it in seven days straight.

SEVEN POUNDS opens December 19th, 2008

  1. [...] Let’s continue our Poster evening, shall we.. after which I need to go watch a couple of movies, long overdue. Via impawards, here is the poster of SEVEN POUNDS and my god, have they lost creativity?! It’d be nicer if the image contains something significant from the movie rather than just a close up shot of Will Smith but I guess for my friends who adore him, something like this would be like Christmas in November, especially knowing that Will Smith will always be looking back at them. I’d probably treat it like a mirror and boost up my self-esteem. Don’t forget to check out the movie’s trailer. [...]
