UPDATE: Variety says Sony still wants to release SPIDER-MAN 4 on May 5 so if the studio gets to keep that date, Paramount would have move THOR again but it’s gonna be tough getting May 20 back from PIRATES 4. Isn’t this fun?! Fight, fight, fight!

TRANSFORMERS 3 would conquer July 4th.

I thought Pirates 4 was still up in the air with Depp having yet to approve or even receive the script. These are very strange times. On a side note I do enjoy reading your posts at Twitter but I am not sure if you realize that Twitter is duplicating each post-posting it twice which can be very distracting.

no word yet but I won’t be surprised if we hear anything about that eventually or soon enough,..either filmed in 3D or converted into 3D… so we’ll see.
Perhaps the technical issue of double posting is on Twitter’s end? It’s interesting how Dep is distancing himself to the Pirates 4 movie while the studio apparently expects Depp to cave in.

my questions are.. does Depp have a choice? is he bound by contract or not? is it pay or play? Does he have enough influence to leave at anytime?

All good questions. Johnny has in his most recent comments on the movie said that he would only do the movie if the script was great. I don’t know if he is just making Disney sweat a little or he actually means what he says. I guess the question is will Depp’s big paycheck make him overlook the script’s deficiencies? I doubt he will. I think his last comments about the movie was less than a month ago and he said he had not even read the script or even had received it. Maybe he has given the thumbs up on the project. Then I heard that Marshall has not even seen the script yet and he is the movie’s director. I guess confirmation will be coming soon.
Good I am more interested in seeing Thor than Spiderman 4. This might be the first marvel movie that someone paid attention to the character. Goooooo THOR! I can;t wait to see how they are gonna throw in the Nick Fury cameo in this one.
I can’t belive how the studio is screwing over Sam Raimi. I don;t see why they won’t the guy use Vulture. Its a character he likes and knows. Everyone likes Ben kingsley anyways. The guy was Ghandi for christsake. Kids loves things flying in the air anyways. I hope Sam keeps the putting up the fight and not giving in and end up doing another spiderman 3.
