James Bond got his bitten by a teen sensation this weekend as the results, via box office mojo, has shown TWILIGHT earned a successful $70.5 Million in its first opening weekend, just as previously estimated. No surprise there. In the U.S. box office, Bond’s new movie, QUANTUM OF SOLACE went down to number 2 by earning just about $27.4 Million from this weekend alone. Most of my friends didn’t really like the movie, callling it Quantum of Boredom.. I beg to differ, of course.
But the movie is still dominant overseas, premiering in many other countries including Australia and Spain, for a fourth straight weekend, earning $40.6 million from 10,400 screens in 72 markets. It’s still number 1 in Foreign Circuit.
I really wish BOLT could’ve done better though, the new Disney CG animated movie is one of the best I’ve seen in recent years and Pixar had nothing to do with it.. but it would have to settle for third place with $27 Million
