It’s no news that Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau are best friends, they made movies together in the past like Swingers, Made, The Break Up and the upcoming Four Christmases. Does that imply that they’re more than just friends?, I really don’t wanna go there because this is not the National Enquirer and come on, those guys are straight up hetero party animals. They’d make a horrible ‘couple’ couple anyway, but their partnership on the big screen on the hand always brings some good laugh and some awesome dough.
Another collaboration is on the horizon because according to Variety, Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau have signed on to star in the comedy movie COUPLE’S RETREAT… wait, there’s more, Jason Bateman (Hancock) and Faizon Love (Who’s Your Caddy?) are in this one too.
The concept is simple and yet it has the potential to be funny. It’s about four couples who go to a tropical island resort. While one couple is there to work on their marriage, the others are there to play but soon discover that participation in the resort’s couples therapy is not optional. They’d have to go through all the dreadful requirements. The women probably wouldn’t mind but this would drive the guys insane.
Jon Favreau is going to be doing this gig first before he returns to prepare for IRON MAN 2 some more. I’m guessing they may be in the waiting game for the script to be done solid by scribe Justin Theroux. Favreau and the rest of the gang will work on IRON MAN 2 full force next year.
