It’s been a long while since we last heard anything on VENOM movie. Well, besides that info about the possibility of Stan Lee doing a cameo, which is to be expected. The prospect is still good though because the writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are the same guys who penned ZOMBIELAND and most of the reviews have been nothing short of awesome. Reese and Wernick previously said that they read VENOM growing up, they’re familiar with the mythology of Venom, but they went back and learned more for this project. Goes to show that these guys wanted to make sure their script, the story would not disappoint the fans.
Wernick told Sci-Fi Wire that VENOM is still moving forward and they have turned the script in to Sony but they don’t know any more than that because as far as when production will start and if it will have any connection to SPIDER-MAN 4, it’s all up to the folks on high from here on out.
“We’ve written two drafts of Venom, and the studio has it, and they’re pushing forward in whatever ways they push forward,”
“We can’t really talk about that, unfortunately,”
“Basically, the studio and Marvel and the Arads are taking our drafts and going beyond and figuring out what’s the next step.”
