Wow, it’s been almost a year since the last time I heard about VENOM the movie. We know previously that Sony Pictures is indeed planning to bring this Spiderman spin-off story to the big screen and thankfully they’re not re-hiring Topher Grace for the role again. What a relief, he was an embarrassment in Spider-Man 3.
Last year, it was said that Sony had commissioned a draft of the script from Jacob Estes, the scribe of Mean Creek, a move that had me worried because Mean Creek says that you’re probably the wrong man for the job. But thankfully that’s not the case anymore.
We can take a deep breath again in relief again because according to Latinoreview, the studio has decided to hire Zombieland writing team, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
Good, I hope they do VENOM justice because that character is still one of the most menacing, powerful villains in the superhero world.
Reese and Wernick hope they don’t disappoint the fans..
“We read [Venom] growing up, but we were not experts,” “We certainly know the mythology of Venom, but went back and learned more when it became clear that we could actually get this job.”
“There’s a burden on you to meet the expectations of people,”

Venom is a wicked cool character. I thought Topher did a good job in Spiderman 3. I just wish Venom would have had more screen time or been the sole villain.
I don’t know if I wanna call him ‘did a good job’, His portrayal of Eddie Brock is weak.
wasn’t Eddie Brock in the comic buff? Topher Grace is anything but.
i for one think topher did an exelent job , and would luv to see him play venom again
Venom,I think, shouldn’t have died in the movie.I think he should have miraculously survived.
So.. you’re suggesting keep Topher Grace then for the role?
