Not too long ago there was an info that Vin Diesel wanted to do two more Riddick movies, and of course we all know that he will reprise his role in the fourth installment of FAST AND FURIOUS next summer (check out the trailer). It seems like he’s on a streak of going to back to his old characters because according to Variety, Columbia Pictures is in discussions with producer Joe Roth for a new version of “XXX,” one that would bring back Vin Diesel as star and Rob Cohen as director
O for the love of..! I didn’t like the first movie, I thought it was a James Bond rip-off but instead of smooth and awesome, it was lame and pointless. And don’t even get me started about the second installment… making Ice Cube an action hero is never a good idea, the whole scene where he supposedly drives his car on the railroad was way too outrageous, it was practically dumb.
Why make the third movie?
XXX was released back in August 2002 and it only earned $142 Million domestically, XXX: State of the Union back in 2005 did even worse, the domestic total gross for that one was only $26.8 Million.
The report says that Diesel has agreed to return and so has Cohen. The duo teamed on the original movie which starred Diesel as Xander Cage, an extreme sports enthusiast who gets drafted by the government for a dangerous mission.
By the way, for your information, not that you should remember this at all because frankly I think this whole thing is a terrible move.
The third movie will be titled XXX: THE RETURN OF XANDER CAGE
you can laugh now.
What the hell is next, Diesel? Babylon A.D. 2?
Rob Cohen is not an awesome director. He made Stealth and the recent disaster, The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
