Here are two classic, well.. kinda classic comic/cartoon superheroes that are going to be turned into live action movies. I’m not a big fan of any of them, and I think it’s a crappy idea, but these are exactly what Hollywood wants to do and those movies are about VOLTRON and THOR. Here’s the official word on the street.
1). According to Latino Review, New Regency is ready to make a live action movie VOLTRON. Producer Mark Gordon has been developing the pic, based on the popular 1980s Japanese animated TV series, comicbooks and toy line, for some time with Justin Marks penning the script. Basically, they saw how successful Transformer movie have been doing so far, and they want to try to do the same or even outplay the competition. Marks’ take is described as a post-apocalyptic tale of survival set in New York City and Mexico. But get this the writer Justin Marks is also working on He-Man the movie.

2). Director Vaughn (Stardust, Layer Cake) is going to make a movie version of THOR, the with a hammer that protects mankind. Marvel will be funding the project just like they did to Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk. This apparently has gotten Vaughn excited because a couple of years back he didn’t get to direct X-Men 3, which went under the direction of Brett Ratner (Rush Hour movies).

I don’t think anybody needs to make these movies, frankly I don’t think anybody would care if movies about VOLTRON and THOR will ever exist or not. They should just go on and make live action movies based on superheroes that are cool and have bigger fan base, superheroes that really matter.
What do you think? Do you think VOLTRON and THOR movies would be an awesome thing to anticipate?
