WOLVERINE: The Reshoot

Wolverine

Fox recently just got a good load of deal from the WATCHMEN battle and it won’t delay the movie’s release anymore. I really thought the a-hole streak ended right there and then, but if it runs through your veins, I suppose the inevitable happens. According to Collider, 20th Century A-hole.. I mean.. Fox once again is f*ing up one of its most anticipated movie of the year, X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. It was bad enough already that director Gavin Hood couldn’t get the freedom to make the movie the way he wanted, now some of the scenes are going to have to be re-done…

Sources have informed us that Fox is conducting extensive re-shoots for “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, some or all of those re-shoots in Vancouver. And by “extensive” we’re not talking about a few days of pick-ups. More curious was the studio considered bringing in a few journalists to cover these re-shoots.

Extensive means broad in content or far reaching,.. this isn’t just making some kind of alternate ending for DVD purposes. Extensive better means along the line of adding more fight scenes because that’s the kind of reshoot I can tolerate and welcome with open arms.
The assumption is the studio brings in journalists just so the folks in higher up can cover their asses when the fans get angry and blame them if the movie blows. It’s a publicity stunt, to show the world that Fox is serious about making it perfect no matter how many re-shoots it would take.
Does this mean we should expect a WOLVERINE movie that won’t live up to our expectations? Let’s just hope it doesn’t end up as one of those that opens big at the box office in its first weekend and then loses the competition in the next because word of mouth got out about how awful it is.
