Would Sean Connery Save INDIANA JONES 5?

Indiana Jones Harrison Ford Sean Connery

This rumor actually started last week but it keeps bothering me for some reason, it got me thinking. Harrison Ford recently said that the story for INDIANA JONES 5 is in the process of taking form. Spielberg, Lucas and himself have agreed on what the adventure’s going to be about.
And then this rumor came along via irelandonline, implying there’s a possibility, if the stars align, that the great Sean Connery might return as Indy’s father in this fifth installment.

A source said: “Steven Spielberg has been working on a script with George Lucas and there is an element of the story that could see Sean returning. Anything is possible in these movies and if Sean wants to return he will become central to the new story.”

I think it’s fair to say that most fans thought Indiana Jones 4 was a kingdom of disappointment. Some of us are practically begging for those three old men (Spielberg, Lucas, Ford) to just end the franchise right there and then already for good and not to make another movie that would ruin every memory we used to cherish about the archaeologist with the big hat.
But since INDIANA JONES 5 is happening whether we want it or not, will Sean Connery’s return really make a big difference?
When he retired after League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, I was a bit upset that he didn’t go out with a bang and if INDIANA JONES 5 stinks again, it’d be like him not making a grand entrance either. Moments leading up to the premiere of the movie might be the talk of town, but afterward, if people hated it, then his little comeback will be criticized, people would be questioning why he’d want to return just for this shenanigan anyway. And I hate seeing that happen to the best James Bond ever.

But can Sean Connery’s presence help INDIANA JONES 5? Was he the missing ingredient that would’ve saved Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull from becoming a disaster that it was?
Or they could also bring back Sallah (John Rhys-Davies) and Short Round (Jonathan Ke Quan) and it still won’t make a big difference?

Sorry I don’t think so. I believe Sir Connery is a movie too late. He should have been in the Indy 4 and maybe took over John Hurt’s role. But still didn’t the dude who played Brody from indy 1 and 3 died or something? It wouldn’t be right without him and Henry Sr. together plus with Shia in it. It’s would be all messed up. Take out Mutt. Even though I do like Shia lebouef. But they need to just throw in Jet Li or Sung Kang as Short Round and make Kevin Spacey the lead nazi villian and Orlando Bloom as the nazi sidekick. That would be nice.

But really you need a 2nd old looking guy to partner up with Sean connery. Watching 2 old guys bicker is kind of funny as hell. Look at Bucket List, Grumpy Old Men, Grumpier Old Men, I though even gran Torino was kind of funny by the way Clint Eastwood was so bitter at the younger culture. But if you partner Sean someone cool like Bill Nighy, Michael Caine(He can Play a good Brody), Ian Mckellen, hell even Morgan Freeman(That would hilarious). Sean would definetly save the hell out of it.

But Sean alone can’t do it.
