This is probably the mega info in the last hour… the one that makes everything else seems insignificant for the time being.
For a while now, it’s been speculated that scribe Josh Schwartz (TV’s The OC, Chuck, Gossip Girl) was writing an X-MEN Spin Off… that because he did mention something about that a while ago, spilled some beans to the web, but nothing new has been heard ever since…
at one point I thought 20th Century Fox sent their bouncers to kidnap Schwartz, whacked him mafia style and left him in the ocean to sleep with the fishes for spoiling too much way too soon.
But Schwartz is alive and well and via Variety, it has been confirmed, he is set to write X-MEN: FIRST CLASS which is going to be about the other teenage characters attending the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. The comic line-up includes Iceman, Rogue, Angel, Colossus, Jubilee and Shadowcat, some have actually made cameos in previous X-Men movies… no word yet on if they’re going to cast the same actors.
The film will probably feature cameos from some of the main X-Men recognizable characters who already got ‘star power’ like Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast, Iceman, Angel and Professor X.
After Brett Ratner’s disaster that was X-Men 3: The Last Stand,.. we could use another version to erase that from our memory forever.
