Dimension Films has released the trailer for YOUTH IN REVOLT, via moviefone, you can watch it using the media player below. All I can say is, finally! Michael Cera acting as somebody else other than Michael Cera. It’ll be interesting to see more of how he’s going to pull of this bad side of his. They could’ve gone with a slick greased mafia hair instead of that mustache tough. But I didn’t read the book that it’s based on so he might have to go with that look.
The things teenagers do just to get laid.. the stuff of hilarity.

This is the outrageous and heartwarming tale of Nick Twisp (Michael Cera) and his quest to win the heart of Sheeni (newcomer Portia Doubleday) and hopefully lose his virginity along the way. Based on C.D. Payne’s cult-hit novel of the same name

YOUTH IN REVOLT opens October 30th, 2009

Hahaha, I must say I’m impressed on all fronts! Cera’s actually doing something refreshing, and even as the normal main character he’s not as awkward as he definitely could be. He’s a bit sharper, less of a push over, he just needs that extra facet of himself to help him through things. I’d never think Cera could pull off playing two different characters in one film, but this seems promising!

    Yup,..

I’m trying to think of what other movies in the past had the character communicate with his bad or good side? I know it’s been done before, I just can’t seem to remember any

    Definitely gonna see this one!

Hmmm, there’s something Fight Club-like about it. I’m sure there are others that utilize the anti-conscious.

  5. Jeremy says:

“Anti-Conscience” is what I meant to say, heheh.

I’m kind of getting sick of Michael Cera, but I couldn’t help but crack up a few times while watching this trailer. The two roles kind of reminds me of Eddie Murphy in Bowfinger, I hope this movie can live up to that. Good to hear Old 97’s at the end of the trailer, too, “Timebomb” was a great tune to use
