What do you get when you combine this year’s favorite drunk and this year’s favorite redhead? TOWN HOUSE, the name of the project that was in development a couple of years ago but hit the brakes because of the writer’s strike. Fox 2000 is not letting this one slip away, already having John Carney (Once) attached to direct, now according to Variety, the man who I can’t imagine without his beard, Zach Galifianakis and my girlfriend in another life, Amy Adams will be this dramedy’s lead stars…
Produced by the brothers Ridley and Tony of the Scott Free banner, with screenplay by Doug Wright and Carney, the story is loosely based on the novel by Tish Cohen
By the way, there’s been talks about THE HANGOVER 2 but Zach doesn’t wanna do it unless the script is right, well for the record, I say he shouldn’t do the gig at all. The Hangover was a laugh riot and I don’t want a less than funny sequel to ruin what I admire about the first installment. That said, I’m glad Zach is becoming more and more wanted left and right for all kinds comedy gigs, it’s about time we get somebody to replace Will Ferrell.
Here’s the official synopsis of the novel TOWN HOUSE…
“Jack Madigan is, by many accounts, blessed. He can still effortlessly turn a pretty head. And thanks to his legendary rock star father, he lives an enviable existence in a once-glorious, now-crumbling Boston town house with his teenage son, Harlan. But there is one tiny drawback: Jack is an agoraphobe. As long as his dad’s admittedly dwindling royalties keep rolling in, Jack’s condition isn’t a problem. But then the money runs out . . . and all hell breaks loose.
The bank is foreclosing. Jack’s ex is threatening to take Harlan to California. And Lucinda, the little girl next door, won’t stay out of his kitchen . . . or his life. To save his sanity, Jack’s path is clear, albeit impossible—he must outwit the bank’s adorably determined real estate agent, win back his house, keep his son at home, and, finally, with Lucinda’s help, find a way back to the world outside his door”
